I will be in PA for the WOO event at Williams Groove for the 5/15 & 5/16 show. Is there any racing in the area on 5/14 (Wed) before the WOO races?

No racing on Wednesday, but if your sticking around an extra day, I HIGHLY recommend making a trip to the Pigeon Hills to watch our regular 410 show at Lincoln. Super Sportsman and Limited Late Models will be running as well. You'll get to see a lot of the locals that will be in the show Thursday and Friday run on the bullring, and the racing has been excellent this year at Lincoln. I'm sure many will agree with me, but the racing that will go on Saturday will be better than Thursday and Friday combined, and it'll be $13 at the door. Sprint Cars and Late Models will also be running at Port Royal that night, that's an option too, but the racing has been far superior at Lincoln so far(IMO). Besides, since your not local, you'll have the benefit of not being pissed off when Fast Freddie puts on a clinic (unlike half our fans).

I really can't disagree with anything the LatshPA wrote. Everyone should see an Outlaw show at the Grove at least once because of the amazing atmosphere and the history of the track, but WoO races at the Grove are usually not that great. Recommendation: Sit on Beer Hill (Turn Three stands) at least one of the nights you are there. If a local wins, Beer Hill will be like probably nothing else you have ever witnessed. LOL

That is all true as well. I go one night of every Outlaw show, but the National is the only chance of me being there both nights, and thats more for the atmosphere outside the gates than inside. Not to knock any other areas or start a war, but collectively, you will probably see the best field of cars of the year at a Williams Grove WoO show. There will be 50+ cars there, and I'd say half are legitimate contenders. I was there last year when Leppo and Layton won for the locals, and singlefile is right, the crowd can get pretty out of hand. The National prelim was out of hand 5 laps from the finish since it was obvious at that point someone from PA was gonna take it. I was sitting on beerhill for that race and the atmosphere was as good as it gets anywhere. Enjoy the shows, but again, Lincoln is only about 25 miles from the Grove, and is worth a Saturday night.

Yes, this is my 1st visit to Williams Grove.
Sounds like I need to sit in turn # 3. How is the view there ... can you see all the action or is it better to sit in the main grandstand by start/finish line.
I can only be there Wednesday & Thursday night as it's a business trip (from NorCal). I am skipping dinnner with the boss to see the race.

It'll be way better than dinner. If I don't sit in 3 I sit on the back stretch, you can see the entire track no matter where you are if your in the stands. If it's a once in a lifetime trip, you will give up some overall visibility sitting in the turn 3 grandstands, but it is worth it for the view you get through 3 and 4. A friend of mine, who was never into racing before, went one night and he said the back stretch was pretty good, but turn 3 was the most intense thing he'd ever seen. You really get a sense of the speed when your there. Thursday you should have a pretty good selection of seats, I just found out thats the night I'll be going since I'll be out of town the rest of the time.

Another thing is that much of the fronstretch grandstands are reserved for WoO races. But as said earlier, the first night of a WoO show at the Grove is not nearly as crowded as the Friday night show. Since you have never been to the Grove, be sure to check out hot laps or some heat action from the infield. There are many, many fans (usually those with young children) that bring a blanket and watch from the infield. You can get very close to the track just by standing against the fence in the infield.
I am sure you will enjoy your trip to the Grove. A lot of the "America's Slowest Half-Mile"and general bashing of the place is largely BS . The facility is top notch, and the lighting is among the best I have ever seen in visiting over 150 tracks. Only real negative about the facility is that there probably should be more bathrooms to accomodate large crowds that show up for the big shows.
I have been to Eldora and Knoxville, as well as being at the Grove most Fridays. The Grove is right there with the other two as far as the atmosphere is concerned and the feeling that the place means something special to Sprint Car history.

...Beer Hill is a site to see, but the VIP section with BigRightRear, 71fan, Smitty, and the rest comes highly recommended...
