Here are a few things heard at Victorville last night

1) From one fan to another: "Wow, isn't it great that USAC isn't in charge? This is going to be a fun night!"

2) In the drivers meeting there was a discussion about how red flag situations would be handled. A gal working the pits spoke up and said: "We (USAC) always do......... (and she went on to say what USAC does). One driver then turned to another and said: "Poor gal is delusional, she thinks we care what USAC does."

3) From a car owner: "Sure isn't as fancy a place as Perris but I'm having a lot more fun than I have had in a long time!"

4) A fan to a track employee: "Sure hope you book more of these races. That drive I'm making to Perris once in awhile is coming to a stop once gas for me hits that $4 a gallon mark."

5) From a regional USAC official that was in attendance who saw someone with a Ron Shuman t-shirt: "You should take that thing off and burn it." That person then replied: "Got the same manners as your bosses back in Indy do you?" (This was my personal favorite quote of the night!)

Great night of racing! Hope there are more of these to come. Would like to see the same group run Tulare!!!

Pacecar, What is so wrong with trying to help another track, like Victorville, get on it's feet? I think many will agree with me when I say that it will only help the sport that we all love. Who knows, maybe if Victorville modernizes it's facility a little bit, we can have regular racing there. Additionally, and I know some people might not want to hear this, but what if USAC/CRA can get Victorville on the schedule as much as say Manzanita. What with fuel costs and operating costs for these hardworking teams, it would give them an opportunity to race more often. God knows that car count has not been that great for events away from the PAS this year. I, for one, enjoyed this past weekend's events at the track in Victorville, and I would love to see more events there. I don't think this deal with Victorville hurts the PAS or USAC one bit. The same fans that showed up in VIctorville are going to show up at the PAS this weekend because everyone enjoys seeing the non-winged sprint cars.

First off RadRobinlb,Thank you for expressing you sentiments about last Sat. nights event at Victorville. Most of us that were there agree..It was a great event, three wide racing, plenty of passing.T he great racing you saw was performed mostly by so. cal. racers. They raced like that in CRA,SCRAand when USAC is long gone,So. Ca will still be racing hammer down ,elbows up.Whether they intended to are not ,Faas and Gardner proved you don't need USAC to put on a good event.BY the way Victorville has a regular sprint car program...If you can Please check it out ..I hope you can make the PAS this weekend...alot of the same great racers ,should be good...
