BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY !!! WEATHERMAN WINS !!!

BLOOMINGTON, IN (April 19, 2007) – As we rolled into Bloomington Speedway the skies were threatening at best. However, Mike Miles was busy adding water to the track since it was dusty. Mike will not tolerate a dusty racetrack, especially during hot laps. As we watched the activity from the pressbox, we all agreed that we had never before witnessed that. Mike had apparently been watching the skies all afternoon. Obviously, a good shower good change a heavy race track into a soupy racetrack in less time than it takes to tell about. Mike was out of time; and he had to water the track a little more.

The track was ready to go; and so were the racers. Thirty-eight Safety-Kleen sprint cars, 21 O’Neal Wood Products modifieds, and 31 Tire & Wheel Center super stocks were all ready to go. The sprint car heats were won by Kyle Cummins, Jon Sciscoe, Kevin Briscoe, and Jeff Bland, Jr. Joss Moffatt of Columbus had what was almost certainly his best outing yet at Bloomington Speedway. Joss had started eighth in his heat race and drove to a fifth place finish, barely missing a transfer to the feature. He went on to win the first “B” feature followed by Kenny Niflis. During the second “B” feature, the rains finally came. A light rain seemed as if it might us a break.; but we finally lost the track.. The weatherman had won by a bumper.

In preliminary action for the O’Neal Wood Products modifieds Clint DeMoss, Shelby Miles, and Kent Robinson prevailed in the heat races.

The Tire & Wheel Center super stocks heat races went to Chris Hillman, Winston Howe, and Lee Hobbs.

When the night was over, the fans went home with a rain check good for $12 off of the price of the price of a future race. The racers on hand went home with 30 show up points for their loyalty.

Be sure to be with us next Friday night (April 25) for the Spring Clash where the Safety-Kleen sprint cars will pay $3,000 to win and $300 to start the feature.
