Where to go? Which one has the better overall show with the better drivers? Thanks, and no bashing 'please'!

well if you wanting to race it would probably depend on where you coming from. which ever is closer would be the better bet but as far as watching in the stands. i have been to both and race at meeker but the racing is real well at meeker. its been a couple years since i have been out at lawton. i went one time and told myself i would go again. had nothing to do with the racing just the drive is a little far for just going and watching. and with gas prices as much as they are now closer is better.

I know you're asking about Lawton and Meeker but if you haven't already give Lake Country Speedway in Ardmore a try. In my opinion, they have one of the best weekly shows in the state. Good car counts, great weekly racing, and a very well ran and efficient show.
I like dirt!

My opinion is definately biased, but I think Brill Motor Speedway, in Meeker, has the best racing show (for both fans and drivers) in the state!!! But, like I said I'm VERY biased.

this weekend the ASCS Sooner Region will be at Lawton. But for a weekly show..........I'd say Meeker. at least right now. Meeker gets more cars. both get upper teens in mods. meeker may get a few less factories - probably around 12-15. same with mini-stocks. But Meeker looks like they may get more champ sprints this year. Lawton has had less than 10 - and with Robert Sellers running it's probably not that competitive (so it seems). Meeker got around 15 last week I think. that # will fluctuate I imagine - but Meeker seems to be on the way up - while Lawton for a couple years has been in somewhat of a decline. Just depends on the weekend though. This weekend I'd say Lawton - because of the ASCS sprints being there. It's all in the eye of the beholder really. Another thing is where you are driving from.......................
I've yet to see a show at LCS (ardmore) - but all who go there seem to like it a lot. Whenever they have a sprint race maybe I'll go......................any sprint shows in the works at LCS?

Both tracks have their advantages .....Meeker always a dry slick track which I love ...Lawton heavy especially when Lanny is there ...
I think Lawton has the better car count , but mark has really made drastic improvements to meeker and I hope everyone realizes it and at least gives the place a shot ....
Loving dry slick tracks I would have to go with meeker !!!!
But like Dogwater said check out Ardmore ...Thats my favorite track in the state and by far the best weekly show in the state !!!!
If the new mod motor makes it through the chassis dyno friday nite at the city I will probably take it to meeker saturday .......see you at the races
winners dont cry when they lose , they go back to the
drawing board and come back for round 2 !

yeah I think as far as weekly divisions go - this last weekend - was definitely a sound off. lol
last time I went to BMS - in 2006 - their show was about like last weekend in Lawton - as far as weekly divisions go anyhow. now Lawton sucks badly. and BMS is doin great. Good for Mark Brill. good for everyone. I look forwards to goin there and seeing a good show.
I really wander about Lawton. you see that type of show a lot when a track first starts out - much like BMS in its beginnings, or places like Caney, KS. when a track first starts off it takes a while to get more cars. But what happens when a track at one time HAD a respectable show ------ but now does not? What will become of Lawton?
With it being a constant decline for the last few years - and even worse - most knowing why. how long will fans continue to go to see a bad show? I think it's do or die time for Lanny.

Car counts speak volumes. The last two weeks at BMS the pits have been overflowing. There were good numbers in each class of car. I hope it keeps up!

I can honestly say I would not be suprised to see 100 cars there at some point this summer. There have been over 100 total different cars there so far this year. It's a beautiful thing to look across that track to the east and see the pits jammed full!!

Robert, As a racer I like to look across and see lots of folks in the stands and competitors in the pits. Which ever side you're going to, it's good to have you. Hope you like it at BMS.

Meeker, HANDS DOWN! Not only is the racing what it should be, but the atmosphere is great for owners, drivers, family, etc. It's REAL racing...what dirt track racing is all about. Come see for yourself...you won't be sorry

I have only been to Lawton, but it sounds like I need to check our Meeker and Ardmore My whole family loves to go and Lanny doesn't do much to make it special in Lawton. Maybe if he paid out more to the drivers, the car count would go up and the show would be more entertaining.
