Flash, I'll be looking forward to meeting you.
I'll agree that body parts for the kind of cars used for factory stocks are getting harder to find and more expensive, and the general costs of racing have increased, but its my opinion that if you just HAVE to go faster, move up a class. There are a lot of changes that have taken place in factory stocks that were unneccessarilly expensive. Aluminum bodies are just one example I was using.
The factory stocks of today could compete with what we were running 20 years ago as pro stocks. At that time I was racing at Meeker under one of its former owners. It was nothing to have 30 or more factory stocks per night. ( Imagine actually have a "B" and "C" feature). I realize ALL costs have increased, which has stopped some people from racing. But I don't think thats the only factor.
One of the first rules I learned about racing is "cubic dollars win races". Does it really have to be that way?
Would a race between 10-15 fairly matched drivers in 3500 lb. nearly stock cars be any less exciting? It wouldn't be as fast as what we have now, but speed is not the only kind of excitement there is. A close race; won by a drivers ability to drive, and not the depths of his pocketbook, sounds very exciting to me.

Looking forward to meeting you! Your last post hit it right on the head. When I come to Brill you need to look at my car, no high dollar parts & most are built & fabricated by me. If I can look at something in real life or a pic, I can probably built it. Of course I can't build engine parts, drive lines, gears etc. Thats how I keep my cost down! About all I can afford is a Factory Stock. With rising costs, thats the main reason I only run part-time.

I gotta agree with most of what Jorski said. I will preface what I say, by saying my view of turn 2 is probably the worst to make any kind of call about what the guy on the outside is doing, but FROM MY VIEWPOINT, I didn't see anything that would have required any action from the track officials.
Apparently, the track officials saw it the same way.
Its a matter of opinion; for everyone who saw Brian run into Johnny, there will be someone who saw Johnny run into Brian, and someone who says they both should be black-flagged, and someone who says its all just racing.
What's important is that we don't let this "Racing Family " grudge get to the point where "Dad" has to punish anyone. Keep it friendly, it's "just racin'", after all!!!!!
My suggestion to both of you, is that you don't get so focused on beating each other that you forget the other competition out there. That 23 car is coming!!!!!

You said it there...23 is coming!! I cant wait to see how hes doing by mid summer. I see a lot of potential in this driver.
