Thus far in this early season, the Daily Disappointment (Daily Oklahoman) coverage of racing at SFS is poor and idiotic. The Fridays pre-coverage is terrible and the Saturday post-coverage is non-exsistant.
Hope this isn't a sign of things to come for the season or it will be a loooooong one.

Last year, we faithfully sent results from BMS to both the Shawnee News-Star, and the Daily Oklahoman. The News-Star not only published results, they did a couple of feature stories. At first the Oklahoman printed them, then suddely stopped. Emails to them were unreturned. This year I won't bother with the Oklahoman.

The Daily Jokelahoman. They only think there is one form of racing. NAPCAR Sad but true. Still they don't get it. Any time they do a story about racing it usually has hearsay information or some idiot wrote it from another publishing company. Just like the story i read a few weeks back that the author reported Kenseth and Gordon took each other out. What was he watching? I saw Gordon run into the corner and his car didn't stick and spun out Kenseth when he got loose. That's the type of morons that write about motor sports. Bottom line in my opinion is that paper is a joke. I've read high school papers with more pages.

i honestly think that one of the things that hurt the Tulsa Speedway in its last 10-15 years was (among alot of other things) the lack of media coverage. unless someone got hurt, was suing the track, or a driver was up for murder charges, we got nothing on television. the print media was somewhat better but we still took a backseat to ALL of the "stick and ball" sports. i read an article a coulpe of years ago where a track back east was having the same problem. they printed out sheets with the newspapers sports editor's e-mail and phone number as well as local tv station's sports desk numbers and handed them out for 6 weeks. the p.a. announcer asked that everyone call, e-mail or both and after a few weeks they started getting coverage. eventually the paper even sponsored a race at the track......might be worth trying.

You may make some head way with the print media here, but please give me a break no way no one like Dean "The Stream" Blevins is going to belittle himself to talk about Local Okla City people involved in local auto racing. That might actually promote getting away from in front of the TV to see some actual events here in OKC . Blevins needs to stick with what he knows best. Kissing Bob Stoops' butt at every occasion and peeing on live radio.
