Next Tuesday is the primary in PA. For the first time in a while, Pennsylvanians will have an opportunity to help decide who will be nominated. However, the big question is...will the winner be claimed as Posse?

the TV footage shows Obama bowling like a pussie in Altoona...flanked by liberal media skunks and heading out to the left coast to bash PA voters.

on the other side there is Hillary who tells her husband to STFU and claims to have gone to church on Easter and talks about going hunting once in her life to shot a duck...flanked by scumbag Rendell.

since Iowa went with the home boy...PA will probably go for the home lesbian and let the wingless fans in Indiana have a opportunity ofr their vote to count.

whatever happens, i will just be glad to turn on the TV and not see either of these 2 reprobates on every stinking commercial.

Um, you have that very backwards. Hillary wants to be Posse and has been here in PA trying to pass herself off as such because her father was born in Scranton, PA. It's more like a native of Illinois that went to college and law school in Massachusetts, was First Lady of Arkansas and is a Senator from New York trying to convince everyone that she is really a Pennsylvanian at heart.

The pandering aside, she is probably going to trounce Obama in PA because Obama's campaign seems to be turning into just one blunder after another. There are only a handful of states that are large enough and close enough to swing the general election either way, and now Obama has pissed off the voters in one of those states.

Two months ago, I thought Obama was going to be the next President of the United States. Now, I kinda believe November is a foregone conclusion and McCain wins comfortably agasint either Democratic candidate.

I agree with you single file.

The Dimwits will have to get a shovel out soon to dig up enough dirt for McCain to lose.

This has been a fun election cycle as I watch the Dims jump up and down on Big Johnson with a pogo stick.

One of the Candidates looks as if she landed straddle the Pogo Stick lol

The oil industry is redrilling old wells, trying to drill new ones and upgrading equipment just as fast as you can send them money. The tree huggers have made it so hard to open up new fields and explore. We need to over ride them and get some domestic sources working.

If you want lower prices don't fill up your tank, leave it less than half all the time. Believe me the storage tanks are not big enough to store that much extra fuel. Supply and demand will kick in.The companys have indoctrinated us all into "filling up the tank" and storing fuel for them in our cars. If millions of cars did not carry a full tank the companys would be begging us to fill up=with lower prices.

Seems to me that the Liberal tree huggers are usually the biggest bitchers and complainers about the price of gas, yet their tree worship and oil worship are what is keeping us from using what WE have.

IS the Wood River refinery, as well as the Mandan and Chicago ones still in operation?

I had heard that these Standard oil joints were now closed.

The tree hugging Comunists that won't let us drill in Alaska should move to Canada.

Today on TV it was showing Tar Sand being mined as a strip mine in Canada, 800 miles North of the US Border. I bet this makes the idiots in America shale in their booties. lol lol lol

Flawed thinking at its finest. Was this sent to you in a chain email? Whether you put in six gallons today and six gallons Saturday and then six gallons again next Tuesday OR if you just put in 12 today and 12 next Tuesday, you are still purchasing and using the same amount. You're just wasting your time on the extra trip.

Maybe one or two days they would see a drop in revenue, but with the amount of people out there needing to 1/2 fill twice as often, it would eventually level back out. They'd just have longer lines at the pump with all the extra trips people would have to make to 1/2 fill-up.

Can we just get back to discussing RACING??

I have strong opinions on these subjects too, but it would not be appropriate for me to state them here. (There are other boards for that purpose)

If I were the moderator of this board, this topic would have been deleted long ago.

First on all, we have no "peers around the world", just fair weather friends who are jealous of what we have and who are allies only when they need us.

Second, we "might actually be paying down the debt". Yeah, right and maybe pigs would fly.

But, I might be wrong, after all Al Gore said he invented the Internet.

Show me the quote where Al Gore said he invented the internet. In case you forgot we had a budget surplus when Clinton left office, a surplus that should have gone to paying down the debt. Instead we all got our $300 check, remember? Now this time we are getting $600, whoopee! But where is it coming from? A loan from China? Not evrybody is jealous of what we have. There are several countries that have a higher standard of living than we do. Most countries don't know or care what we have. They just want us to stop sticking our nose in all over the world.

nodust, first off we do drill in Alaska. Ever heard of the Alaska pipeline? About 3/4 of what we drill in the US doesn't go to us anyway., It goes on the world market to the highest bidder. What we have isn't enough to sustain our need for very long anyway. I agee we need to use our resources but we can't be foolish and just suck it dry because gas prices are high because when it's gone it's gone. The only way out of this is to develop an energy policy that strongly emphasizes renewable and alternative energys along with conservation. The experts predict that there is only about 50 years worth of oil left on the planet and with the drastic increase in consumption in China and India, it's probably less than that. BTW, it was your side that thought it would be a good idea to industrialize the 3rd world via "free trade" , and yes they got help from Bill Clinton. Drilling our way out is a very short term solution but that's typical from the right side. Developing the tar sands in Canada into usable oil is much more costly than drilling and would have a much worse impact on the environment. I agree and can't believe Canada would allow it.

Repubs are very good at name calling, gotta give you that.

This IS racing related!

When getting to and from the races and figuring out how to pay for it, it becomes racing.

Al Gore "invented the Internet" - resources

by Seth Finkelstein

Transcript: Vice President Gore on CNN's 'Late Edition'

BLITZER: I want to get to some of the substance of domestic and international issues in a minute, but let's just wrap up a little bit of the politics right now.

Why should Democrats, looking at the Democratic nomination process, support you instead of Bill Bradley, a friend of yours, a former colleague in the Senate? What do you have to bring to this that he doesn't necessarily bring to this process?

GORE: Well, I will be offering -- I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be.

But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system

Is McCain the answer??? Or Hillary or Obama???

Maybe the answer isn't here???

cut taxes for the rich? mr sprint57, over 45% of my income went to state and federal taxes last year, just what percent of your's went. I don't get the $300 handout you'll probably be getting this year, and most of the tax breaks you realize, like standard deductions for your children if you have them, have been taken away from me. So while the overall top tax rate of 39% may be a little lower than in the past, many of the deductions are gone, result is higher taxes.

Just curious, how much of my income do you feel is fair for the government to take? Congratulations for being successful in America son, I'll take half of what your making! Chances are you have no idea that the top 5% of earners paid over 80% of the taxes in this country. It's an easy vote to get telling simple minded people we'll take more from someone else and give it to you when you're talking to the 95% that are paying 20%. The truth is, a huge number of American's pay far less than 10% of their income in taxes, many even pay nothing, yet still bitch that someone who is paying over 40% got a "Break".

You're not happy with your economic situation? Good news, we still live in the greatest country in the world, where the only limits placed on your future comes from your own simple mind. Study hard, work hard, start a business and you too can be paying over 45% in taxes because you're income will be in the top 1% of the population, but guess what the government or your union isn't going to give you this income, you have to go earn it. You don't have to agree with me, but just don't tell me I'm not doing my fair share when I see the size of the checks I write every three months compared to the size of the check you write every three months.

Warren Buffett seems to disagree?

He says "the degree to which the-- economic-- well, the taxation system has tilted toward the rich and away from the middle class in the last ten years is-- is dramatic, and I don't think it's appreciated. And I think it should be addressed."

Tom Brokaw: Of all the tax lines that you've seen proposed over the years, a flat tax, a consumption tax, a more progressive income tax, which is the one that appeals to you the most?

Warren Buffett: Well, in theory a progressive consumption tax makes the most sense. I mean, if you tax the people who use the resources of society rather than ones who-- who-- who provide the resources of society, that makes more sense. And a consumption tax can be very progressive.

You can have just an unlimited IRA. As long as you invest money, and don't actually spend it for yourself, or your kids don't spend it, or whatever-- you don't get taxed. As soon as you start making withdrawals from society's bank, start using the resources, the-- the sweat of other people to-- benefit yourself, you would pay on that. That-- that's the one that makes the most sense. I don't-- it isn't gonna happen-- in all likelihood.

Certainly the worst taxes-- is something like a sales tax. I would say that we've got a pretty bad system, when we tax the person who-- who cleans out my office, the receptionist. They are paying 15-- payroll taxes, over 15 percent now, just for openers.

Most of my income is taxed at 15 percent, and-- and doesn't pay a payroll. Mainly it’s dividends and capital gains. And if you look at the Forbes 400, a bunch of my fellow rich guys-- they will-- their tax rate overall to the federal government will be less than that of their receptionist. And I challenge anybody. If they want to make me a bet on that, and I've urged Congress, both the Senate and the House, to get the figures anonymously from the IRS. Just look at that Forbes 400. Takes a billion three to get on the Forbes 400 this year. And the aggregate wealth is just staggering. And those people are paying less percentage of their total income to the federal government than their receptionists are.

Tom: How much are you hearing from your fellow rich fellows, as you describe them?

Warren: I don't hear anything. They're happy. They are not paying the tax rate their receptionists are.

Tom: Why do you think that is? I mean, Congress took a look at this this year with the hedge fund operators.

Warren: Right.

Tom: Who are getting taxed at about 15 percent.

Warren: And they-- and they're screaming about that. And they-- and-- and it-- and they're often deferring taxes by-- by using-- foreign tax statements. And what happens--

Tom: But why-- why won't Congress step up on this in your opinion?

Warren: Well, I-- I-- I don't know the answer to that. I do know that the hedge fund operators made a record amount lobbying-- in recent months, so they give money to the political campaign and-- and who represents the cleaning lady?

as big a fan as you are of the free market - I bet you're a closet Clinton activist. and that probably ain't the only thing in the closet too. but anyhow - with all the good behind the scenes work Clinton does to help Bush with free trade in Colombia - I would have figured you a big fan.

Go Jesse Go. The Iraq War is why we are paying $3.25 for regular and $3.99 for diesel. Mr. Bush has borrowed $500,000,000 to fight a war that was totally illegal and unecessary. He has also added $3,000,000,000,000 to the National Debt by cutting taxes for the rich. Borrowing that money from foreign countries is making the dollar worth less raising the price of all imports including oil.

Fighting a war in a country with the world's second highest reserves of oil makes the speculators go crazy. The thing that we call a futures market allows those speculators to make money $$$$$$$$$ from fear of interupted oil supply. So what does the President do? He feeds those fears for political reasons. He also continues to put oil into the Strategic Oil Reserve when oil is over $100 a barrel.

Is there an end for all of this? Only if there is a new government after the next election willing to make big changes. This includes reducing our spending on military hardware that makes it so easy for our stupid leaders to fight the next war. Raising taxes on the RICH to reduce the $9,000,000,000,000 Federal Debt is another step in the right direction. Why raise taxes on the rich? Because they are the ones with the money. The top 5% of our citizens own more than the bottom 80%.

Yes I call myself a Liberal.

Congrats Sprint57, you have it figured out and stated the exact reasons why our dollar is sliding down the slippery slop. I know the conservatives who believe everything Faux Noise tells them nightly haven't figured it out yet (and never will). Not being a conservative or liberal, I have learned to deal with facts and they all point to the outrageous spending spree our government has been on.

Muslims of the world have to be laughing their ass off cuz BinLaden is still calling the shots from his cave. Maybe some brave Marine will be able to draw a bead and earn a "good job, well done metal." Bockscar and the Enola Gay could finish this ordeal off but nobody had the big fuzzy's to do it.

I do hope all the conservatives enjoy the internet that supposedly Al Gore gave them. Afterall, if it wasn't for him, they'd still be using crank telephones.

Just to make 73% of the population informed, (the other 27% never will have it figured out), there are only 279 days left on the Bush countdown calendar (April 16th) and it's been 1813 days since the famous "Mission Accomplished" ceremony took place aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln. The "Abe" will still be floating but I know someone or better yet, an administration, that is treading water and sinking fast.

Be sure to tell us again how many days since Hillary came under sniper fire in Bosnia lol lol lol

How many days has it been that the severe racist Obuma started going to the church with the racist preacher, yet has never heard him be a racist lol lol lol.

I guess the whole fact of the matter is ALL polititions lie, but the Dims better figure out pretty soon that they are NOT going to be running against Bush this year.

Missed a point: The use of oil is doubling every three years in India and China. 2.4 billion, yes billion people in those two countries. A decade ago, those two countries used very little oil. Almost half the world's population in two countries that are modernizing very rapidly. Gas is not going to go down, but go up and a long way up. In ten years we will be paying what they pay in Europe for gas.

thumbleft

And with peak oil upon us, the problem is two fold.

The upper 1% who control the world's purse strings seem to be the main ones who have pushed globalization over the past 30 years because it is more profitable for them, despite strong opposition from the rest of us.

Cest la vie.
