Kruseman, Clarke & Mero In Ventura Open Wheel Fest

(Ventura, CA) Southern California open wheel fans the place to be this Saturday night is Ventura Raceway, as the USAC Western States Midgets, CA Dirt Ford Focus Midgets, Jr. Ford Focus Midgets and the VRA 360 Sprint Cars all compete on the 1/5th mile clay oval.

Local favorite and two-time Chili Bowl Midget Nationals Champion, Cory Kruseman will be looking to capture his third USAC Midget win at Ventura for car owner Andy Bondio. The always potent combination last won together at Ventura exactly three years ago this month. "Outside of the Chili Bowl our schedule doesn't leave much time to run Andy's midget, but anytime we can hook up at Ventura, we're there" declared Kruseman.

Kruseman and the rest of the stars of the USAC Western States series will want to keep an eye on first time Full Midget competitor Henry Clarke and USAC/CRA rookie of the Kruseman driver development program. Clarke will compete in a newly acquired Spike Chassis under the Kruseman Motorsports banner. Just three weeks ago Clarke made his USAC Ford Focus debut at Ventura for Kruseman and captured the A main event in convincing fashion. Clarke will have a busy evening as he'll also compete in the VRA 360 Sprint Car division in a Kruseman car.

2007 JR. Ford Focus Champion and USAC/CRA rookie, Austin Mero will make his first ever USAC Ford Focus start and be attempting to duplicate the success of his Kruseman teammate (Clarke) three weeks prior. The 16-year old from Kingsburg won three JR Focus main events last year on his way to the championship title and will be looking to add another to his resume'. Mero will also do "double-duty" as he will also compete in the VRA 360 Sprint Car division for Kruseman Motorsports.
