Chuck, correct me if I'm wrong here but isn't Craig Dollansky the number one promoter for the track? So, if that's the case, wouldn't he have the final say about what races there? Because if this "other" promoter(s) can call off a race Dollansky was putting on, couldn't the World of Outlaws show suffer the same fate?

I heard Joe Ringsdorf of Fairmont, Mason City, and Algona tracks is the promoter for the non-WoO races. Also cancelled is the USMTS (United States Modified Touring Series) which is HUGE in these parts of N'west Iowa. The fair board is hearing an earfull, but evidently is not hearing enough from the racing community. Have anything to add send to.....

It wouldn't hurt to let the fair board know how us race fans feel, afterall I thought this track was suppose to bring in some "specials" and not just "stock car specials" that every track already around here has?!

Ken,
All I know is that ASCS informed me that the Spencer fair board apparently hired a track promoter, and along with another promoter, thought it would be in their best interest to not have an ASCS National event in Spencer on that date.
ASCS has also informed me that they are aggressively pursuing an alternate to fill that Saturday night vacancy.
Craig Dollansky had nothing to do with this cancellation and is very upset over what has transpired...CZ

One thing is apparent......there are a ton of questions and no answers.....not good for this new track. I feel sorry for Craig Dollansky and all that worked hard to get this track up and running, it now appears it is going nowhere fast.
I hate to be a pessamist (sp) so hopefully they can turn things around cuz the WoO show there last year was an absolute success!!! Can't imagine why a USMTS or ASCS show wouldn't attract fans from around here either.

Chuck,
Hope they can find someplace to run. That would have been an awesome show at Spencer. With Phil Hurst loving sprint cars, why on earth did they hire a promoter that despises them? I take it Craig must have had nothing to do with the process of finding a promoter. After all he has done for them it seems like he should have had some input in the process.
