Reading catpuppy's update on Eddie Guinn reminded me of a topic that I was going to bring up from this past weekend. And I feel it is a real important topic.
The track officials stopped no less than three drivers during the weekend for leaking fluid. Upon stopping these cars they found that the fuel cap was not tight, loose or not on at all. WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DRIVERS AND PIT CREW MEMBERS THINKING?!?!?!
On he heels of the young man who got burned to death late last year in New Mexico, you would think everybody would take the necessary percautions to make sure that is top priority. Is being in a rush to fill the fuel tank and make adjustments cause enough to not make sure that cap is tight?
There is no excuse on safety not being taken seriously. There is no reason to put winning on the track first when there could come a time when you may not even win the game of life because of carelessness.
