Looks like they priced themselves right out of business as far as getting the WoO to come back! Seems like admission was up around $40-$50 dollars to get into the grandstands and if it is anything like the Dragstrip, Beer Pop & Chow was another small fortune.

Thats too bad, been to the drag races there and the facility is incredible. Would have been awesome to see them pound the ground on the dirt track.

What really happened there? Are you saying that because the ticket price was too high WOO pulled the plug on this race? I thought as long as they got their money they wouldn't care what the tickets cost.

We were hitting the fall NHRA show for about the past 5-6 years until they pulled it from the schedule. The Strip is an awesome facility, Pricey as well but it's only once a year and the show was phenominal. I walked over to the dirt track and checked it out from the fence but that is as far as I ever got to it only because of the prices there! Why travel 2 hours to spend $100 when I can travel the same distance to Knoxville and spend half of that.

Anybody know where an actual release/article about this cancellation is located? I can't seem to find one. Also curious if the USAC doubleheader on Sept. 05 is still on? It's not showing on the schedule on the Rt. 66 website.

Glad to see they cancelled this one. I'd hate to see them ruin a good demolition derby surface to run a sprint car race.
