There will be one more "unofficial" driver commitment list either Tuesday or Wednesday night but below are the list that I have thus far. If you are a driver and are planning on attending this event, please email me your information (as posted below) and I will put it down. Your email address will remain confidential for those of you who wish not to be bothered. Remember, this is not a requirment, just a "media members" account of who all are planning on participating.

Don't forget there will be an open practice session will be available for all drivers competing in next weekends $10,000 to win "Thunder in the Park" for modifieds at Enid Speedway Park in Enid, Oklahoma. On Thursday night, March 27th, drivers will be able to tune in their modifieds begining at 6:00 PM and will last until dark. Pit passes for this night are $25 with admission free into the grandstands. Races will be held Friday through Sunday, March 28-30. For more race information, log on to the tracks official website at http://www.enidspeedwayparkllc.com/
For you race fans who may not be able to make this three day show. I will do what I can to post complete results but I will be depending on the tracks scorers for complete, official results. It is an hour and a half drive from the track to where I live in OKC and I plan on driving back and forth each day so results might not be as prompt as you would like. But if nobody else takes care of it, I will as soon as I get home and type them out.

I was wondering what the format was going to be.

I was really hoping they were going to go with the Street Stock Nationals type format. I personally dislike the inverted heats style format. It is probably easier on the drivers and crews but this format stinks for the fans. This is especially true when there aren't nightly A-mains. It just doesn't feel like you get a complete show. Driver A may be really fast in heat 1 but you won't get to see how he stacks up against against drivers B and C because they are in heat 2 and there is no a nightly A-main to see the cream rise to the top. I also don't like this format because it seems that sometimes the inverted heat format can allow for what I call "fluke drivers" (drivers who got lucky and are not necessarily the best of the group) to make it in the show if they draw easy heats because they don't have to compete against the top teams in other heats for the transfer spots.

Oh well, I'm just glad that there is $10k mod show taking place in the state. I appauld Enid for putting the show on. Even with this format it will still undoubtably be a good show. Looks like some good teams are planning on attending and it sounds like things are pointing towards a healthy car count.

I like dirt!
