BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY 2008 SCHEDULE
BLOOMINGTON, IN (March 19, 2008) – Bloomington Speedway’s 2008 schedule follows. This is almost certainly the strongest schedule ever for the red clay quarter mile. As usual, our schedule features regular competition of Safety Kleen Sprint Cars, O’Neal Wood Products UMP Open Wheeled Modifieds, and Tire & Wheel Center UMP Indiana Super Stocks.
In addition, USAC Midgets, UMRA TQ Midgets, and the O’Reilly Mid-West All Star 410 Winged Sprints will make appearances on the Bloomington Speedway red clay during the season. Also, in addition to our regular weekly shows, Bloomington Speedway will participate in the USAC Indiana Midget Week, King of Indiana Sprint Series, the Modified Wolf Pack Challenge, and USAC Indiana Sprint Week.
Our always popular Sheldon Kinser Memorial event will add the 20th chapter to its storied history; and the Spring Clash will put the opening chapter in its history.
As if all of this weren’t enough, four “Bonus Nights” have been added to the schedule. On those nights bonus cash will be added to each purse. This will almost certainly bring out more competitors on those nights (April 18, May 23, June 27, and August 15).
Our season will begin on April 6th with a car show at Sam’s Club located at 3205 West State Road 45 in Bloomington. This would be a great time to visit with your favorite driver and maybe get an autograph.
Racing will begin in earnest on April 11 with the classes that will be the backbone of our racing program all season – Safety-Kleen Sprint Cars, O’Neal Wood Products UMP Open Wheel Modifieds, and Tire and Wheel Center UMP Super Stocks.
The inaugural Spring Clash for Safety-Kleen Sprint Cars will be run on April 25th paying $3,000 to win and $300 to start the feature. The purses are increased for the O’Neal Wood Products Modifieds and Tire & Wheel Center Super Stocks as well.
Sprint and Midget Magazine will present the famous USAC National Midgets as a part of Indiana Midget Week on August 8.

Coolers allowed NO GLASS! Lawn Chairs Welcome. No vehicles or lawn chairs allowed before 5 p.m. on Thursday before race.
Unless specified otherwise SafetyKleen Sprint Car Feature pays $1,300 to Win, Tire & Wheel Center Indiana Super Stock Feature $500 to Win and O’Neal Wood Products UMP Modified Feature $600 to Win with proper decals (decals available at the track draw window).
*Bonus Nights additional $400 to win for sprint cars, additional $200 to win for modifieds and additional $200 to win for super stocks.
Points for all classes will run through September 19. May 9, July 18 & August 22 are non point races for sprint cars.
