Just wondering why the ASCS doesn't come to Route 66 Motor Speedway in Amarillo Texas anymore. I know they haven't been for several years. And I am wondering why because there was so great races there in the years past. Just curious. Thanks., LETS GO RACIN!!

I drove up to Amarillo from Dallas for some of the ASCS races there - and y'all are right - there was some great racing. However, they seemed to not have many cars travel that far. That is probably one problem. And with fuel prices being what they are now I know that some racers are not planning on travelling as far as they have in the past. Also, the track owner has to figure out if he can get enough spectators at a raised general admission to cover the sanction fee and the purse. It probably all boils down to economics.
