David Smith Jr (405) 740 4769 $10,000 to Win for Modifieds Draws Near Enid, Oklahoma - March 05, 2008 - Just a little over three weeks remain before modified drivers from throughout the region embark on the fairgrounds three-eights mile of Enid Speedway Park for the $10,000 to win "Thunder in the Park," set to take place Friday-Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, March 28-30. Also on the card for the Enid, Oklahoma modified extravaganza will be $1000 to win for sport mods and street stocks. Entry fee for the modifieds is $250 with the Sunday afternoon feature finale paying $525 to start. All "B" feature qualifiers not transferring into the finale will earn $500. Entry fee for the sport mods and street stocks is $100. Enid Speedway Park track rules will apply for the modifieds, sport mods and street stocks. Steel quick changes are allowed as are aluminum heads are allowed for the modifieds with addition of 50 lbs. required. Either Hoosier and American Racer G60 tires are legal for the modifieds. While no preregistration is required, several drivers from three states have indicated their intentions on competing during the three-day weekend. They include three-time National Championship Racing Association modified champion Johnny Allen along with fellow Kansas drivers Dave Hardesty, Delbert Smith and Jerry Brown. Oklahoma drivers Chad Wheeler, Tate Cole, Tyler Propps and Joe Duvall along with Texans George White and Glen Hibbard have also announced plans to compete.
