On another board there was a thread that stated Darland's son had a punch out with Hagen following the Darland flip. Any truth there Rob?

They had a heck of a time getting Rob out the gate between shows, he kept saying he wanted to help put the new marker down.

I had a great time, rain and all. Tell me, when was the last time we got a chance to see the best run the best, all day and all night?
Do you think a intervention is in order for turn 4 ??

Weather Danny was not in the area he should quit crying. He does slide job after slide job. And, when it happens to him he cries like a school girl. There are two kinds of slide jobs. A clean one where nobody has to get off the gas.And ,the second one is where the car getting slide jobbed has to get out of the gas. All of the slide jobs i have seen Danny do is where the car getting the slide job has to get out of the gas.So, when it happens to Danny he should quite crying. If you live by the sword then die by the sword.

A little off the very entertaining topic of SideShowtime bashing.
The two types of slide jobs, as I see it, are those that work and those that don't. If the slide job works the car in the back is always going to have to get off the gas. The slider is always going to scrub off speed going sideways to get in front of the car who has the momentum line. Once the slider is in front of him the car in the back has two choices, slow down to keep from hitting the slider and the slide job succeeds, or cross over and cut underneath to beat him to the next corner, and the slide job fails. But just like driving on the street, if there is a car in front of you, no matter why or how it got there, you can't hit it. If the slider doesn't time it right, or have enough momentum to put the whole car cleanly in front of the car with the line, then they have to get off the gas or change lines to avoid colliding, and the slide job fails. A clean slide job is not one where nobody lifts.
Regardless of that, sideshows in the pits, though entertaining, are distasteful. Settle it on the track, tit for tat. And quitchurbellyachin'.

If Manzy is protecting the Yeley's then by rule don't you think that Sheridan would have been tossed?? He was in another pit and he started the whole thing by those actions. I hear that Sheridan has connections that protect him with USAC/CRA. Bottom line is that at most tracks or sanctions, you do NOT go into another pit and start anything or you are gone! Looks like they turned a blind eye on Sheridan more than anything else. Its also another chicken bleep thing when you run through the infield and grab a driver while he is still buckled in.Yeley's team didn/t go into anyone elses pit and it was Jack Yeley I think that calmed the whole thing down.
|
Well not a lot of BUSH just a little! You know like a hitler mustache above the box. I just got to comment on the Manzanita staff protecting Yeley's crew what a bunch of crap. I was sitting close to Bobby when he saw the Sherriffs going into the pit's he did not ask who they were after he just said I do not want anyone being hauled off to jail. It would not have mattered if it was Danny or Yeley's crew. Grant it if someone had used a weapon or something stupid it probably would be different.
Bobby has been in racing for along time he knows what happens in the pits's he is not protecting one crew over another he is protecting all the crews. Personally I thought the whole incident was kind of humorous good thing Sheridan did not decide to open up that can of WHOOP ASS it could have got ugly LOL.

It is great to see someone call Danny on his B.S. But, as for the Manzy staff kicking Yeleys crew out of the pits. Never will happen. Not that day or any other day The Manzy director and all the officals think they do no wrong. They love the Yeleys. It's been like that since J.J was racing . Cactus Jack and director are buddies. The same thing when Shermans crew got into it with Yeleys team in the mid 90s'nobody got thrown out or suspended. And, it stated in the rule book what the penelties were if you went to another team pit and started crap.
|
blueline you don't have a clue, Bobby Martin did not even know who was involed when he made the phone call and told them no one was to be thrown out. Danny Sheridan is a very good driver but he needs to grow up stop whinning and crying everytime he is involved in an incident. I thought the racing was very good and Manzanita did a very good job after being told by USAC that they were not going to race Friday night.

Hey Mike:
That is bar none, the best post in this thread. That is a complete and concise description of slide jobs. I wanted to say the same thing, but you said it for me. Pure and accurate racing insight.
See you at the PAS.

I have two questions,
First, is Hunter Schuerenberg still under 18yrs of age and considered a minor?
Second, what we were told at Perris on opening day if you go into another teams pit and start crap that it was going to be a 500 dollar fine, is it only going to be issued if you're not one of the favored ones?

It is my understanding from a post, in a thread pertaining to age requirements, that to drive under USAC sanction below 18 years old you must be emancipated. In which case I do not think a person is any longer considered a minor.

Not that it makes in difference in this deal but Emancipation is different from state to state and some don't even have it. Considering Hunter is not from AZ, how would that work?

Fine,HELL NO,Sheridan let his emotions get the best of him,and tried to express himself at the wrong time-wrong place, ending up on his butt.NO BIG DEAL.. let's no demonize him, He's a good guy..USAC is right to let it go. save those fines for a maylay with a little bloodshed. Enough of racing is based on deep wallets, let's not financially handicap good race teams. The Drivers need to work these things out without big brothers help..and they always have in the past.Just my opinion..........

I agree that drivers need to work it out themselves, but in his case it has happened many times before and he has torn up a lot of other peoples equipement and nothing has ever been done about it.Maybe now that someone has thrown him on his a$$ he might think about his actions. Basically if he don't like getting run into maybe he should stop doing it himself.

USAC is right to let it go.. BULLS**T !!! The rule is the rule if you go into another persons pit and start s**t then USAC needs to stand its ground and fine whoever it may be. ( Driver,Owner.Crew member hell even Turn4rob ) I know Danny one hell of a nice guy but put him in a driving suit and he can be a real ass at times just as most racers can when they felt that they have been wronged by another competitor. This is one of the reasons why people dont like USAC there strong will to play favortisem with certain teams and drivers . Like the old saying goes if you do the crime do the time.Just my opinion ......

I'm a innocent man Mike, I didn't bring it up and I have way to much time on my hands..LOL Like I said at the track "I should be called big mouth instead of BIGFISH!. Now there's a straight line if there was one...Have at it!!!.
I didn't really have all that much to say about what I thought about what happened, it was more about keeping the record straight. I know what I saw and it was so predictable I even knew it was going to happen and watched for it. Danny saw himself, saw what he has looked like out there at times and didn't like it. If he can process that and do something about it he can be very good, instead of just fun to watch.
Fishing? I was asked by my buddy who keeps his boat down at Cholla bay MEX, 60 miles from the AZ border to go last weekend and this is a picture of some of the bigger fish we caught a few months ago. I was at the Copper, the fish had to wait.. Kenny.. I'm the old fart on the right...
