Jeremy and Shane swapped the lead throughout the A Main, but Shane just had more vehicle most of the way. None of the CRA boys ever figured in it after Josh Ford fell back from second after a half dozen laps or so, although semi-CRAer Levi Jones hung in there for quite awhile. Over 100 cars including the -very- speedy midgets and Crowns. For the Demon fans: Damion drove everything that ran, but it wasn't his night in any of them. For the Rickie fans: Ooooooooo. Beyoootiful new Smiley Crane #2az. For Mikey fans: the red 50 was gone after the first yellow. Overall, however, Midwestern supremacy on a chilly- (and somewhat windy, not to mention Windy) winter evening with 8, 12, 12, 12, 12, 25, 40 and 50 (total 171? It's 3:30 am) laps run in the eight events during the evening half of the double-header caused by Friday's rainout. The 5:00-6:00 pm break featured Handsome Bobby dining on a Whopper up the block, btw.

Sorry to see Rodella take a trip to the hospital for observation. On the other hand sure was glad (and suprised) to see Darland walk away from that horrific flip almost 3/4 the length of the "Big Manzy" front straight. Nathan High's tumble coming off turn 4 was real hard and he too was able to escape serious injury. Good racing the whole day , a lot of tore up equipment with minimal injuries. I can't wait till the 3rd annual Copper On Dirt next year! ! !

On another board there was a thread that stated Darland's son had a punch out with Hagen following the Darland flip. Any truth there Rob?

What I read on another website was that Trenton tried to throw an unsuccessful punch. This is hearsay, as I was NOT there, and I really have no business repeating it. However, I wanted to reply to say that I truly don't think that the write up was necessary. Sean's site provides humor to the hard-core fans on a regular basis, but I don't remember it ever getting personal. I don't see the point in trashing Hagen to try and tell a funny story. Every driver has their ups and downs...I'm sure Darren made some mistakes, but I guarantee that they were not intentional. And then to accuse him of the kind of activity that the story implies is WAY below the belt...

Trenton (Dave's son) ran down to where Hagen was stopped in turn 4 during the red. He reached over the top of the cage and threw some punches at Hagen. Since Hagen was sitting there with helmet still on, he didn't feel a darn thing. That coupled with he fact that no sooner did Trenton get started, he had people pulling him away from Hagen immediately. Just a youngster emotionly upset over what happened to his dad. Wasn't a big deal.

Does anyone know if there will be a complete write up, and some video clips posted from this weekend's events at Manzanita?

Sheridan if you are going to get upset every time someone does a slide job on you, although you do this all the time your self. You should apply for a sponsor with the WWF. Why is it every time you go to the other teams pits you start and run while your crew joins the fight and you disappear. Stay and fight your own fights. From the stands it looked like the Yeley crew got the best of your bunch so next time don't start something you can't finish. Ken Allred

Good to see you guys.. Rob, I knew it was you when I saw you taste testing the white stripe off 4..
The big car race was good. As expected, Kaeding took it to the top right off the bat, it took him more than a few laps to get to the front, good stuff. Jerry was looking all over and running both the top and bottom and methodically just reeled him in and he was not really pressed after his pass of Bud.
The AZ boys did themselves proud and Sherman drove a hell of a race and it may sound strange but he out drove everybody out there. Man, did you see how deep he had to drive it into 3 just to stay with him?
Manzanita did a great job under the circumstances and even bought some big portable heaters to stand around. I had a great time, saw old friends, made some new ones, and saw some great racing, ALL DAY AND ALL NIGHT.

Danny was jumped by Yeley crew before he ever got to the pits. His crew wasn't in the area.
Yeley crew tackled him and started the fight. Other crews from other cars jumped to help pull the idiots off! Police took one of yeley crew out.
My Advice to you keep you mouth shout if you were not there. Stay in the stands and drink you beer.

Weather Danny was not in the area he should quit crying. He does slide job after slide job. And, when it happens to him he cries like a school girl. There are two kinds of slide jobs. A clean one where nobody has to get off the gas.And ,the second one is where the car getting slide jobbed has to get out of the gas. All of the slide jobs i have seen Danny do is where the car getting the slide job has to get out of the gas.So, when it happens to Danny he should quite crying. If you live by the sword then die by the sword.

From what we saw (not Ken) someone (and I was just waiting to see if it would happen) came over to the Yeley car and tried to have a little conversation LOL by sticking his head in the cockpit and yes he was tackled and put to the ground big time. Now if that was Danny, yes he was by himself at that point, but not for long. The guy who tackled him was not thrown in jail, he was in the pit later. If that was Danny and I never said it was, he certainly was in the wrong pit stall, they must have been just trying to help him find his way. Saying Danny was jumped before he got to his pit is kind of a strange thing to say because if he didn't go to his pit to get out of his car then my assumption is he must have just been asking for directions at Yeleys and they misunderstood his intentions.LOL
I know what I saw, now tell me it was different! This is a first, yes me, I'm going to name call for the first time.......................azfan, you are a, oh hell, never mind stupid.
DHertzer, I just read your post (after this) and it looks like we saw the same thing including the bumping on the back stretch.

azfan.....It appears that maybe you might not have been there yourself. We were parked across from the Yeley pit and saw the whole thing. Aside from the 18 driver banging on the rear of the 1 car while they were coming off the track (which was very unsafe due to all the people in the pits) Sheridan was in the cockpit of the Yeley car with his hands on the driver who was still strapped in. The crewman pulled Sheridan out of the way and on the ground to protect the driver. All of this happened inside the Yeley Pit as Sheridan landed between the tool box and the race car. You should have seen the look on Sheridans face when someone finally called him on his B.S. and knocked him on his a$$. It was later found out that one of the CRA USAC officials lied and told security that the track wanted the crewman to leave, but the Manzy Director stepped in and let the Yeley crewman stay, so I dont think you did enough research in your story azfan. Maybe now Sheridan will think twice before he puts his hands on another driver!!! azfan...maybe you had a few too many Budweisers before you wrote your half truthful post.

It is great to see someone call Danny on his B.S. But, as for the Manzy staff kicking Yeleys crew out of the pits. Never will happen. Not that day or any other day The Manzy director and all the officals think they do no wrong. They love the Yeleys. It's been like that since J.J was racing . Cactus Jack and director are buddies. The same thing when Shermans crew got into it with Yeleys team in the mid 90s'nobody got thrown out or suspended. And, it stated in the rule book what the penelties were if you went to another team pit and started crap.

If Manzy is protecting the Yeley's then by rule don't you think that Sheridan would have been tossed?? He was in another pit and he started the whole thing by those actions. I hear that Sheridan has connections that protect him with USAC/CRA. Bottom line is that at most tracks or sanctions, you do NOT go into another pit and start anything or you are gone! Looks like they turned a blind eye on Sheridan more than anything else. Its also another chicken bleep thing when you run through the infield and grab a driver while he is still buckled in.Yeley's team didn/t go into anyone elses pit and it was Jack Yeley I think that calmed the whole thing down.

Well if that's true Danny should have the penalty, right? All of the rest you said has no bearing on what happened. It was Danny who came to Yeleys pit! So why the all the griping about Yeley?
DHertzer, that's twice we said the same thing in different ways at the same time. mmmmm Oh, I know, I type with one finger.

Kind of a P.S.
Hunter Schuerenberg, I'm assuming that's who was driving JJs car, was all over the track all night long and I don't know if that was a bad slide job or he was just out of control as he seemed to be way to much of the time. Any thoughts on that?
