Check your Comcast billing statement.

I bought the Chili Bowl PPV broadcast from my cable provider, Comcast, for $9.95(which was the price on my screen), and when I received my bill, they had billed me for $24.95.

I called Comcast and the person told me after checking, the charge of $24.95 could not be changed. So I asked to speak with a manager and was told it wouldn't do me any good because the manager would tell me the same thing.

So the person put me on hold again and came back and said my account would be credited next month the difference, $15. I was also told the next time I purchased a PPV program, I first needed to call Comcast to check for the correct price.

So I'll check my statement next month for the credit.

I also don't believe I should have to re-check with Comcast for the correct price. They need to make sure they have the correct price on their programming.

I saw people quote both prices, $9.95 and $24.95, prior to the event???

File complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the FCC, your Cable Comission, the FTC, your State PSC and with the Post Office.

This is Bait & Switch and, since they bill you through the mail, Mail Fraud.

When I first heard about the Chili Bowl being on PPV I checked it out and it was $9.95 and then the day of the event it was $24.95. I guess it was a good thing that I didn't buy it. I've had so many problems with Comcast. Sadly it doesn't surprise me that you got hosed.

Yeah my parents didn't have any problems like that with Time Warner. It said 24.95 from the get-go. I don't have cable u here in Vermont so I couldn't get it. But we have a really weird small cable company up here called Charter Communications. Luckily my parents sent me a copy of the chili bowl so I got to see it a few days later.

Why would you spend $24.95 to watch just 5 race anyway, especially a replay, when you could see the same show for nothing on SPEED 2 weeks later? Besides, you could get the complete 5 nights of racing on 6 DVDs with over 100 races and no commercials for just $60.

The replay on speed was a zoomed in coverage with all the HBO graphics off the screen. Poor quality in my opinion.

There is something about watching it live that is much better than watching it two weeks later. Two weeks later you already know what happened. Takes a lot of the excitement out of it.

10 YEARS AGO, YOU COULD READ ABOUT IT 2 WEEKS LATER, BUT TO WATCH IT WAS 6 MONTHS.

Find a different forum to cry about your pay per view charges. I mean damn if you had a couple friends you could of split the charges. This whole topic should be deleated and railbird should be banned for hoseheads or at least pit on probation for stupid ass shit like this!

I paid because it's LIVE! and "in the moment" and would pay again next year.

Great then pay for it next year and then whine about the charges after you get the bill. Maybe if you start asking around or put some fliers at your local hardware store by the time next years chili bowl rolls around you might have a few people to hang with and split the bill. Better yet get a paper route and get to tulsa and see it for yourself. T.V. doesn't do this race justice anyway.
