Has anyone heard why the Sprint Bandits TNT aren't racing at East Bay this year? I also see that the Oskaloosa race in August isn't on the scedule this year. Man I sure look forward to watching that series run, hope they can get some more shows on the scedule, looks like just 5 races this year. hmmm.

Florida promoters didnt make any $$$$ on the non wing shows last year so they didnt rebook. Too bad they only gave it a one year shot.
As for the $30,000 to win Oskaloosa race going off the Bandit schedule, the sanctioning body has switched to USAC. I understand that USAC dropped their sanctioning fee to take the race away from Emmett Hahn. Also hearing that USAC is probably putting a few $$$ into the kitty (sponsorship??) so they could hang their name on this event.
Kevin Miller sure made a big splash right away for his new employer (USAC). However, they may have stirred up a hornets nest in Oklahoma by doing so. Can one now vision Sprint Bandit races coming to Indiana????? Hmmmmmmm

The "sanctioning body has switched to USAC" That reads to me that TNT has switched to USAC ?? Both are sanctioning bodies aren't they ??

Last year East Bay made the mistake in my opinion by alternating wing and nonwinged 410's through the week which hurt the car count and probably fan count. So this year East Bay dumped the nonwinged races and cut the 410 races to two nights paying a whopping 3k to win each night. With the high ticket and pit prices and East Bay nickel and diming the fans I can see why they are hurting for fans.
Maybe next year Ocala or Lake City will considering bringing in TNT nonwingers.
TNT sprintweek is still set just without the Osky date. I think Osky wanted to make sure they could get the top nonwinged guys and the best way to do that is by putting the USAC label on it. I am sure there was some wheeling and dealing between McTwo and USAC to make it happen.

Maybe it's McTwo that decided to switch to USAC? Now that USAC is under new leadership I think McCarl maybe more willing to work with them. I think the race could still go unsanctioned and be a success.
As for the racing in Florida I wonder if Volusia would be willing to host TNT?
TNT in Indiana would be interesting but with USAC's Ind. midget week the same week as Osky I think it'd be hard to schedule around it and draw a good car count if they still did the races in Okla., Neb. and Kansas the following week.
