Led from start to finish but was chased and passed by Crag Dollansky three times, each time a yellow would put him back in front. Dollansky dropped out with 5 to go and Brooke Tatnell came in second. Joey Saldana, Danny Lasoski and Donny Schatz rounded out the top 5.
First time an aussie has won the final and I'm glad it was my mate, Robbie Farr, well done champ!!!

sad little man...........
but anyhow when it was brought up a few weeks ago I thought then - as I still do - how cool it would be for an Aussie (what amounts to a local in that race) to win the Outlaws Down Under. Congrats to Farr. but even more so - congrats to Australian sprint car racing as a whole - the fans - the promoters - the drivers. everyone. more coverage and credit should be given to the Sprint race scene down there. I think in competition it truly rivals American sprint racing. but Australia does it under much tougher circumstances...............there are many many tracks here in the states - and almost any one of em you can go down the road and there is another. thus regions prosper here. Australia does it all on a coastline - making it the longest drives possible from track to track under what has been stated is horrible road conditions. Australia should serve as a model to the sprint race scene in the states - of what unity between tracks and stuff can accomplish. I'm sure there are some issues there - but however everything has happened there it is workin good.......................without knowing it all - and just purely from an outsiders perspective - there does seem to be much more cooperation between tracks and different regions that what we have here in the US. is that fairly accurate in comparison?

SteveV - was Farr the driver of a red experimental car a year or two ago that did not have a front wing...some kind of aero hood instead?

Farrie drove a red car last year, BRR, but she was a plain Jane car, nothing tricky in the aero department.
Believe it or not they are saving their good engine (a Don Ott I think it is) for the Warnambool Classic next weekend.

Not a mention or a photo on the front page of Hoseheads, this used to be a big deal. Maybe it's because an American didn't win it.

Steve, I received nothing from the event except some photos from Gary and I had no luck with them either as they never came through in the e-mail. And he tried twice.....

Sheet, I wasn't blaming you, Alan, I was sort of blaming PCR's publicity machine without wording it properly. I realize everything you post is from press releases and track photographers.
It just pisses me off when my mate wins and he doesn't get all the recognition he deserves.

BigRightRear, that red car without the front wing was raced by Troy Little, it was just average and they did not perservere with it. It was never raced at any big meetings they only raced it at small country tracks where Little could have won with no wings.

Nice photo of Robbie waving the flag on front page. One thing we cannot accuse Hoseheads of is discrimination.Robbie also won in Mount Gambier last night beating home Jason Johnson (USA) and Dave Murcott.
