Similar to McFadden couple bad nights and wins the next. To hold off Day not easy. Donny seems to pass cars just doesnt make the dash enough due to qualifying. Just to win an WOO show is a carrer for some.

Meanwhile, back at Eldora, a young outlaw put on racing clinic for the High Limit guys. 2026 Knoxville and Husets points champion Ryan Timms set quick time, then won his heat race, the dash, and the feature. Good times.

I dunno. He would have stood a chance, maybe just not have dominated. He is one of only 3 of the top 20 in WoO points and the only driver in the top 20 in H-L points to have won the Knoxville Nationals.

Yes he did. He lead the first couple laps. Timms was flying, but Abreau, Scelzi, and Reutzel- for a while at least- were flying faster. Finishing order was H-L points leader, 3rd in H-L , OK Outlaw, and 2nd in H-L points. It was a good race with 3 leaders and lots of passing.
Interesting statistics about percentage of H-L wins so far in 2026:
43% a part time NASCAR racer who was away at his day job
42% a part time NASCAR racer who was away beating the WoO in California
21% the H-L guy running 2nd in points
17% the current H-L point leader
15% the 2026 Husets and Knoxville points champion doing some late season outlawing

I don't believe anyone ever declared Schatz was never going to win races again. But, let's be honest, he went over that hill about 5 years ago. I finally bought my first Donny Schatz shirt this year at Knoxville. I had to wear it when we went out last night. Of course I live in a sprint car dead zone, so no one even knew who the hell it was. Pretty cool to see him get the win on that track, against those guys. Pretty sweet.
