So its a 10 Race battle to see who's in the 8th spot between the 13 and 55. What is the difference between 8th and 9th?? What do you get if your in the club?  What do you lose if your kicked out??

The 13 has a franchise. There's no getting kicked out if they're 9th in points.

The 55 needs to finish top eight in points in both 2026 and 2027 to get a franchise. If they don't finish top eight in 2026 their only other option is to finish top three in points in 2027.

As we've seen franchises are worth about $400,000 if you sell one.  The payout in the High Roller Club is significantly better during the season as well, but I can't quote the difference.

I get that annouincers think they need their own cute little catchphrases.  But everytime I hear that one I cringe just a little.  And I like Chase as an announcer.  I think he does a good job.  But his coming to green may be the worst in the industry... 

It is tied with the guy who wants to kick the tires.

Personally, I am sooooo tired of all the coming to green catch phrases.  They are all good announcers and I think both Flo and DV do a great job.  But for the love of... give it up fellas

I don't even charge for this wealth of marketing advice. 

But to answer the original question, no one really knows, it's all slight of hand, what we do know is that if you are not in the high roller club of cool kids, you are officially crapped out and get sent home broke to the little woman and your bank examiners. 

I could not believe how light the crowd was last night at Lucas Oil Speedway. There is no way they made money. No question it is one of the top facilities in the country, but I have yet to watch a race from there over the last few seasons, including their big Late Model shows, where the grandstands were packed. With the passing of Forrest Lucas, and the cut backs in Lucas Oil sponsorships in motorsports, it makes you wonder how much longer the Lucas family will continue to lose money on the Speedway. It will be interesting to see  what kind of crowd shows up for Saturday. I also put Vado Speedway in the same catergory. Both tracks are teriffic, but situated in areas with minimum population. Eldora is the exception to that rule.

Now that gentleman truly wants to be the show...port is one of mytop two favorite tracks here in Pa.....and my least favorite announcer out of all the tracks and touring series and it is not even close!  Some enjoy him he is just not my cup of tea.

this is blasphemous for a Pa boy but after enjoying Indiana usac sprint week Kokomo and Haub are my favorites....knoxville and eldora are great too.

most three day shows are low attendance on the first day,,,,and it being school season ...just another reason,,,,taking on high school football games is a risk in my mind....Eldora is what i call Gem shows ...the don't have weekly races ....and usually are big paying races that bring all the good cars. If the world finals were only sprint cars the place would be half empty.

I've always thought the same about Lucas Oil Speedway.  It never LOOKS full, so I just wondered if it was an illusion and was actually packed or was as it seems---half empty?

Remember when all of the Outlaw haters put the HL series up on a pedestal for catering to the little guy, not showing favoritism towards their core group, not bowing to corporate America, and producing racing that didn't put so much emphasis on qualifying time?

Here we are.  They're the Outlaws in a different colored cape.  Why?  Because that's the formula to pay a core group of drivers to travel all over the country.  Taking care of your core group means favoritism towards them, and the little guy is on their own.  Paying the bills means getting corporate America involved.  Getting that core group to remain your core group means not handicapping your fastest cars with stupid invert crap.  (which I'll argue to the death HL doesn't have an actual invert---just a sneaky way of making everyone think they do, when they are indeed going to put that fast guy in the dash 99% of the time anyways)

Congrats guys.  The more the drum keeps beating, the closer we get to a clone of the series you all hate so much.  It's a mirror image of politics today.  

Well said.  There is no other outcome than resembling the WoO at some point, just a different name.  Some details will be different, but the overall framework will be the same.

Don't forget you gotta light the fires also. Earl to me is the human equivalent of a deflating balloon. Sometimes I worry when there's a pass for the lead even in a heat that he's gonna hyperventilate and vapor lock.

Egras couldn't be more spot on regarding the "invert"  -  i struggle to comprhend the logic in these Time trial shows and inverting therefore defeating the purpose of rewarding hammer down!

the high limit process is a shell game....and quite frankly unnecessary.

Watch the last couple of laps of the highlights on YouTube. They show the very thin crowd on the backstretch. Then they show Courtney  coming to the chekered flag with the entire crowd you can see in the 4th corner cheering- all 4 of them.

Yup-I believe someone ran the numbers for both series not too long ago.  Average winners from each series:

--virtually identical average starting positions

--virtually identical time trial results 

--fastest 2 cars in each heat made the dash pretty much the same amount of the time from each series

"I like the wheel better than drawing numbers from a can.  Gives everyone better odds."  Nope.  Completely false.  Prior to the first guy going to the stage to pull a number, or spin the wheel, it's the same exact odds from either method.  If it's a 6 car dash, prior to the start of the draw, you have a 1 in 6 chance of starting on the pole.  A 1 in 6 chance of starting 2nd.  A 1 in 6 chance of starting 3rd....etc.  Now, the odds for both methods change drastically AFTER the first guy goes, but that has no bearing on the odds of making the dash, and starting on the pole of the dash.  

There have been some "cute" little things to give everyone a warm fuzzy feeling like things are different.  They're not different.  They both have a fantastic series, and when it comes down to it, both are in it to turn a profit.  

That wasn't just low attendance, the stands were damn near empty.  Empty grandstands and $400k charters don't go together well.  I have felt obvious all along, that someone or a group of people are propping this thing up financially.  The charters requiring a commitment of two years when a cent hasn't been paid out is unheard of among racers.  Tow money and end of year bonuses at the banquet has worked for 100 years so I'm curious to see how this charter system works out.  Hopefully it won't get to the point of lawsuits as it happened with NASCAR won't be a thing.  
 

Anyways, I have to move along now.  The HL race starts a few minutes.

Stan, I think that you hit the nail on the head.  This may be just one person's opinion, but last year someone who is among the most poweful in the sport said that he just wonders how long Flo will continue to dump money into the series, when it is only a small piece of their total business.
