What's the deal with High Limit fumbling around at the scales after the race. Are they calculating the tolerance Rico can be under the minimum weight limit, especially after a rubber down race and the tires don't have any rubber left ? In my opinion they should do like Eldora does and display the weight. Even a green or red light indication of pass or fail would be better than simply letting Raudman spout about the weight requirement being a formality before they even weigh the car. There seemed to be a lot of confusion last night and they even pushed his car back on the scales making one wonder if he was light. If there is nothing to high display the weight for all to see, not just the guy operating the scales and announcer.

I've never cared about anything if the car is allowed to head to victory lane.  I work all week and don't want any responsibilities other than watching the races.  The officials are working so I let them do their jobs.  Just my thoughts.

The key is to drive around in the slop at the bottom of the track on the cool down laps to pick up some 'mud weight' like Bloomquist used to do.

There was an obvious issue with the scales. If you were watching Rico's interview, you could see they never even weighed Mcfadden's car at all. It just rolled right on through. My biggest issue with race was what were the event points last night. I am a huge High Limit supporter, but there is no excuse to not post the event points in a timely manner after the race. They made a big deal about the event points and format, but I guess they were more concerned with glow parties and other outside racing events they couldn't make sure their scales worked or get event points posted in timely manner. Other tracks that put on special point driven events have no issues. It is going on 12 hours and there still nothing.

Sure wish you guys held WRG to the same standards as you do HL. Any little nitpicky thing you can find to try and bash them

It's become laughable at this point.

It would be great for Golobic, Montgomery, or Mittry to win it all!

Hey look I am a huge HL supporter and want nothing but success for the series and as a fan of this series, you damn right I am going to hold them to a high standard. Knoxville, Skagit, Eldora, and Port Royal all have had special points implemented for certain races and have no issues getting the points out in timely manner. DO BETTER. Lets see how fast points come out tonight. Something tells me we will not be waiting until the next afternoon.

I am not bashing WRG or High Limit for that matter, but I do question the integrity of the entire scale process when other than Eldora I have not seen as a fan, the verification of the minimum weight rule upon the completion of a sprint car main event. It definitely seemed that there was some sort of issue at the scales last night and it was dismissed. Was Rico (or any other car) light at the scales. I was at Eldora when Gravel unexpectedly came up light and was disqualified. As a fan you could see the weight and they even moved the car back and firth a couple of times. Just a question on my part as I don't think the rule and iit's enforcement is taken seriously. Event announcers also seem to dismiss or not take the verification seriously.

 @ Quick Time

I agree with you a 100% . I was watching Brad Sweet and he did not want a bar of it , the scale debacle in my opinion .

Cheers.

Excerpt:

Series Director Mike Hess informed StockCarReport.com that the whole thing was a result of an equipment malfunction. He explained, “We use a wireless scale system from Longacre that works flawlessly as long as the batteries don’t go dead. We put new batteries in last week and one set of batteries decided it was done working.”

“We proceeded with victory lane and had an official with each car go through the entire process,” he continued. “While victory lane proceedings were happening, our tech official got the backup set of scales and put them into the scale ramps. Once Victory Lane ended, we weighed the top three without any issue.”

“It was an unfortunate time for an equipment malfunction, but we did the best with the scenario,” he concluded.

High Limit Racing is back at Silver Dollar Speedway for night two of the Gold Cup Race of Champions. After last night’s race, Kaleb Montgomery is the high point man with Rico Abreu just three points behind. After tonight’s race the top four in points will lock themselves into the $100,072-to-win finale on Saturday night.

Do you remember the old days, when you might have to wait almost a week until ypu got your Speed Sport News, or Hawkeye Racing news to find out who won a big race somewhere? We're pretty spoiled now.

I still subscribe to Area Auto Racing News. I still get the paper delivered to my house and I'm super pissed I didn't get mine today. I still prefer holding it in my hands and reading it like a dinosaur.
