The 360 nationals have become a joke! It's all 410 drivers running anywhere near the front. What is the point?????? Just drop the 410's back in! Top 410 drivers should be ashamed to cherry pick the pockets of the 360 guys IMO.

Fans care way about supposed "cherrypicking" that drivers do. Why would any driver care even the tiniest bit that a fan on a message board thinks a race is "cherrypicking?"

I didn't realize this board was for talking to drivers.

I didn't say it was. I did not even infer anything like that.

Even if drivers never read anything, message board posters without a penny invested in the team pissing and moaning that drivers racing for a living "cherrypick" where they decide to race seems silly to me.

What seems silly to me is we have an event called the "360 Nationals" and the top 14 finishers are all regular 410 drivers, most of them top touring teams. Only 3-4 360 regulars even made the A Main. What the hell is the point? Just make it a 410 show!

Did you ask the 360 teams if they feel that way? I wonder how  much they care about posters who only want to star gaze.

There's nothing "grass roots" with cherry picking a race a race in a division where that's the only time all year that they will bother with supporting. It's like letting the Dodgers play in the triple A world series.

What's next, all these teams pulling into Eagle to run the 305 Nationals?

Oh yeah I'm sure the 360 teams love running their biggest race of the year for outside the top ten money.

I recognize your bias, but wasn't the idea that High Limit drivers would have time to run (or not run) other races outside their franchise?

great point  I55 same night paid 55k to win...some news is null and void...

Ascot was the greatest of all time..

West Capital wasn't half bad either..

Life is good...

I could dig back in my notes from the 80's and recite the original press releases regarding the establishment of the 360 class.  I'm pretty certain that most don't recall that the purpose was to establish a more "budget friendly" class of Sprint Cars.  Now we have people calling for abolishing the 360 event and making it 410.  Which is it?  I think there are a lot of newer fans who haven't got any idea how these events came to be and their stated purpose.

it's no skin off my rear, I just watch them all and enjoy the local tracks and regional racers as much as the big time.

So you remember 16ft top wings and the other little oddities that differentiated a 360 from a 410.  As soon as they become exactly the same car with a different engine it was on as far as 410 drivers running them.

I want to hear how board's going to decide who is a "360 Driver".  I can think of three right off the top of my head that I consider 360 guys who also have 410 rides.

Whatever, I was there Friday and Saturday and saw a lot of good racing.  Let's not talk about that, we're all keyboard promoters.

Fifteen years ago people would pull me aside and complement me for an article in Flat Out or something I wrote in my column in the Midwest Racing connection.  Now I am a "keyboard warrior" not allowed to express an opinion.

I miss being around the sport.  Every day.  Like Mic Jager said recently, "there's nothing good about getting old".

Congratulations Stan welcome aboard glad to have ya! The truth is 360 racing has been dying a slow death for many reasons. I just feel they don't even get their own race anymore without  professional 410 teams taking all the money. There's plenty of 360 drivers here in the northeast and virtually none of them bother going anymore it's a waste of time. But all the fan boy star gazers are just as happy watching them clean up.

I'm not sure I understand 100% what you're saying. I55 paid twice as much, but the H-L guys were free to race (or not race) wherever they wanted to?

That comment was 100% not directed at you.

My point was this thread is three pages long with about no mention of the racing that actually went on.
