The wheel determining the invert is better than the automatic 6, but it still rewards mediocrity which i hate.

It would be like paying $200,000 to the winner of the knoxville nationals prelim nights...stupid

Must have been a conspircy asgainst the outlaws. Or was the yellow at the end when a non outlaw was being chased by an outlaw the conspircy. Macri said he saw the car sitting there as he went down the backsretch but the yellow didn't come until he was coming off turn four. So if it had been the other way around would they have waited another 100 yards before throwing the yellow. As it turned out the yellow kept the outlaws off the podium. Every year when when the Knoxville forrnat is questioned the answer is the the cream rises to top no matter the format. The only guaranteed starters were the top two timers.

Don't compare the King's Royal to the Knoxville Nationals. The cream doesn't have time to rise to the top of the King's Royal because it's a one-night show. If the King's Royal were a 2-night show, and last night was a prelim, your podium would likely either be in the back of the Championship A, locked into the top-10 of the B, or running Hard Knox night. I can figure out the points for you if you want. ?
That's the problem with the 1-night show with inverts. The inverts are "empty." There is no reason to be fast in qualifying. At Knoxville, although you are inverted well out of a transfer, you MUST qualify well if you want to have a chance to win the big dance, so you want to be inverted out of a transfer with a chance to race your way into the big dance. King's Royal?----meh. Just hope you get inverted right. Whatever you do at Eldora, don't be fast out of the trailer! Dumb.

Seems like the racers disagree with you. They keep showing up for the race.

No, I don't believe they sandbagged, which is why I said they were slow OR sandbagged in qualifying. So you'd agree they were slow? At least much slower than the top 1/3 of the field? This is why I hate the reward of an invert that automatically transfers you to the feature while the top qualifiers start out of a transfer spot! Stupid for cars so equal where a narrow track and dirty air are King! Stupid. Kings Royal is over so I can forget about the nonsense for another year!

Are you gonna be alright dude, you're getting pretty juiced up here. Do yourself a favor and watch Indiana sprint week, it'll make you feel better. Ain't no sandbagging gone on there either. ....lol...

I don't think anybody is good enough to give up a half a tenth to target a certain spot in qualifying results. Maybe, but I doubt it.

You don't believe there was sandbagging, yet that is what you wrote? Sure, an invert benefits drivers who are slower. No one would disagree with that. But it is impossible to sandbag qualifying to that degree, especially when no ome knows what the invert will be until after qualifying is over.
There is very fine line between front row of a heat and missing the invert completely.
I don't see why the format is worth getting all worked up about.

It's unbelievable how much disinformation you can post in just one thread. For example-
Egras said, "Because it's #$%ing stupid to bury the guys who unload and time fast, and have a podium of guys who either tired slow, or sandbagged during qualifying. Dumb." -FACT CHECK> The fastest 24 cars in qualifying all started on the first two rows of their heats. What they did from there determined whether they got buried or not because they definitely didn't get buried in their heats.
"No, I don't believe they sandbagged, which is why I said they were slow OR sandbagged in qualifying" -FACT CHECK> There shouldn't be a need for an OR if you didn't believe that they did. Not sure why anyone would mention sandbagging when the invert could be ZERO.
"So you'd agree they were slow? At least much slower than the top 1/3 of the field?" -FACT CHECK> Rico was the only one on the podium that wasn't in the top 1/3 of the field in qualifying. The other two on the podium were.
"This is why I hate the reward of an invert that automatically transfers you to the feature while the top qualifiers start out of a transfer spot!" FACT CHECK> There is no such reward. Everyone still has to race there way in through their heat. Cameron Smith, Cap Henry, Danny Sams III, Chase Randall, and James McFadden didn't get an automatic transfer despite being inverted to a transfer spot. 18 out of the 24 fastest cars all started in a transfer spot. So claiming the top qualifiers started out of a transfer spot is not factual either when the vast majority did.
"If the King's Royal were a 2-night show, and last night was a prelim, your podium would likely either be in the back of the Championship A, locked into the top-10 of the B, or running Hard Knox night. I can figure out the points for you if you want. ?" -FACT CHECK> More disinformation. Do the figuring and get back with us.

After Saturday I still standby that inverts are pointless and hold no weight in 2026. I am sure that will make a lot of people angry but oh well BUT, for years everyone that is absolutely in love with this old outdated stupid method has said it makes racing better, especially in the heats. Seeing the race in person and looking at the results, I really do not think that is the case. Ever since the Outlaws went to the 0 invert on regular shows, there have been many last lap passes, battles at the end, people moving up through the field, etc. Yet, people complained because oh dear, the precious invert was no longer used.
Saturday Heat Race Winners came from - 1st, 1st, 1st, 1st, 3rd (actually 2nd after a turn 2 crash that involved the 2nd place starter), and 2nd. All winners mind you led all 10 laps.
I won't argue that at one point in time inverts had their place and probably did make the racing better. It is just not in 2026 now. The past number of years, it has actually made the Kings Royal worse. Didnt the year that Logan Schuchart won the Million he either did not make the Kings Royal a few days later and he had Qualified 3rd overall. To me, that does not make the race better, it makes it worst. When I first started going to this race I thought it was really neck and neck with Knoxville with having the best race each year. Now it is not anywhere close due to the single day invert. And actually I would say it is not even the 2nd best event anymore as Husets has probably taken that place.
Its fine I guess for a 1 day, 1 race, special event, it is what it is but it makes me glad the regular show format is what it is.

AS many people as there is disappointed with this race I am sure car counts and fan attenance will be down next year. Tony will likely lose his ass over it and will have to sell the track for lunch money. And to think all because an outlaw didn't win it.
