What's the status on Hwy 14 between Knoxville and Newton? Is it open all the way through? I know it was completely shut down a couple of years ago. We're staying near Altoona pretty close to Hwy 80 this year for the Nats. Was hoping somebody who lives in the area could advise!

Thanks guys! That is good news. We got a rude awakening a couple of years ago when we didn't know about the construction. Last year we stayed on the south side of Des Moines and were able to come in from the south side. Doesn't sound like we'll have issues coming from the north this year.

Shouldn't be any major issues in 2026 the way it looks! I believe our first trip we got stopped at a stop light for one lane across a small bridge. (another poster sent the link on which ones are going to be worked on) It was not there 2 weeks ago for Outlaw's show. I live in a rural area, and no road closures really cause much more than a minor inconvenience. However, throw a giant 15,000 acre lake in the middle of that closure, and it becomes a major deal!
