Historically the All Star champion rarely has much for the WoO.

Something was up this weekend with Rico. That motor just didn't have speed. From hot laps to qualifying, heats and semi, the car just wouldn't pull of the corners. Don't know if they were at Pevely testing something, but very unusual.

Rico will bounce back. Not even deserving of an interview to get his side. Everybody likes Rico but he didnt need TSR to be successful. He is still one of top 5 but Gravel and Cody showed they are the best right now. At least they showed up and ran B. One time at KnoxVille we won the A main next week in the B the streak ended at one.

Can you imagine the comments if Gravel ran that poorly? I'm not the biggest Gravel fan but that man is damn good and drives very intelligent races.

Correct. They'll all be in Knoxville together in 2 weeks. If Rico wins a feature, and Gravel runs 4th, look out! The Outlaw haters will be out in full force and Gravel will suck again!!

Gravel has turned into Schatz, methodical, maximizes the finish he can. Will will 15-20 races a year and the points. Buddy is what Gravel used to be, hard charger, running hard every lap, has the fastest car in many races but won't win them all because he's always on the edge.
Having said that, either Gravel or Buddy would dominate High Limit points.

I'm enjoying watching some great racing from both series. It's been so good that I'm watching both streaming services using the TV, tablet and laptop. The choices are awesome and the drama posts after every race are icing on the cake. This stuff has the Chaz blowing gaskets for three hours on his YouTube channel. I can't bring myself to watch him rant but laugh when I see the length of the videos posted. Now we have weekly tracks opening and the Posse tracks and those are fun to keep tabs on as well.
It's a great time to follow the sport.

What if Brian Brown dominates everybody that weekend on his way to winning the 2026 Knoxville Nationals?

I would have no problem with that. Just need to keep him and JJ apart this year...

J J?

I assume he is referring to Hickle and last year's Nationals wreck.

Historically, J J was not what Brownie needed to worry about. His biggest thing to worry about was the cushion in turn 2 which he nearly every year jumps to put himself out of contention. You would think that he would figure it out after all those years of racing in the Nationals.

I know he doesn't really have to worry about Hickle---was just referencing last year's misfortune. I don't think you could accuse Brownie of not figuring out the Nationals. 3 runner-up finishes for an independent, regional driver is better than 99% of of the other drivers who have entered.

Should there be some sort of minimum requirements or credentials for a driver from the beginner/junior series to be able to race with the WoO? Maybe a pink stripe should be placed on the cage of any HL cars when racing with another series.

No problems, no excuses, just couldnt get in the show in the presence of the outlaws. I think the debate is over.

Rico has 21 WoO victories. I think he meets the requirements. Keep in mind, that there are some new guys racing with the WoO that are getting lapped multiple times in the A features.

Obviously, having requirements to race with the WoO is just another dig at High Limit. But, just like you stated "new guys getting lapped'. They are supposed to get lapped. Rico is not a new guy. He has 21 WoO wins, he is the high limit champ, but he did not even make the A main to get lapped......either night. Pretty embarrassing. You could not even use the excuse that it was a high car count (37 cars). One night he missed the last B main transfer spot by one, but the next night he was even further back from transferring.
Will be interesting to see how Rico and his team performs in the next few races. Will these subpar results continue or will they turn things around? You can bet many eyes will be on them!!
