How could a nice facility like the Las Vegas track have such a jankie catch fence? Watch the Flo video showing a non-wing sprint car easily crashing clear through it! The car did a couple flips on the track then onto the wall and through the fence to outside the wall. It looks to me like if the car had been going faster or had hit a post, it would have torn down enough fencing to cancel the night's racing. Pretty scary.
On a different and sometimes controversial note, in a drone view of the crash site they showed the crowd. If I used stop-action on video, I could probably count the individual people in the stands.

Interesting. Anyone have the details on the Las Vegas Dirt track? They have ZERO on their schedule besides this weekend's races. Is this their only event of 2026? That would explain the catch fence issue and why we should never expect that to be fixed.
As far as your "controversial" note, everyone on social media continues to make reference to Flo likely "paying the purse" so the gate is not important. I had my calculator out last year when they announced the total viewership for Flo sprint car racing and if they figured out how to get enough meat off that bone to pay for purses, on top of the production online, they are great business minds. I hope they are making it go so the tracks can be profitable. But the math ain't mathin' at some of these events.
