The world of outlaw racing was really good tonight. Great to see Donny back on form and I hope it holds through the season. Finally, that was some grade A pro-level world of Outlaw fanboy stuff right there! You always preface it with making yourself sound neutral, and then you consistently fanboy the world of outlaws every time you post on the matter. You're not fooling anybody. Whatever floats your boat, you do you fanboy!

Yea, that was a good race!
New dirt worked out perfect, mucho passing.... seems like it used to be a high speed, follow the leader place, right?

Nope. I enjoy both. Can't get on the "hate everything Outlaw" bandwagon however. I think it's dumb to discard what they've done for this sport. But it's only an opinion. You're welcome to have yours. Both organizations doing what they have to do. Hope and pray it continues to work out for both when the times get tough.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with the "WOO worshiper". Just own it. You're right they've done a lot for the sport. But don't try and act like you're viewing objectively when you made a post about the WOO having better talent BEFORE either series ran a race. NOBODY has any way of knowing which series has the superior talent this year, since..... at the time of your post no races have been run.

Or maybe he was just giving his honest opinion about who has the better talent on their roster this coming year. Why is that so triggering?

By the way, if Schatz ever starts from the front, will he lap the entire field?

Actually, always starting the race in back could keep him from winning much at all. He's obviously very quick on slick tracks. If they get their qualifying act together look out!

I wouldn't say it's "triggering" at all (whatever that means?). I just thought it was contradictory. You're correct he COULD'VE meant which series had the best talent coming into the year but that's not how I read it. Especially when he makes a prediction about who will win the title this year. Everybody's welcome to their opinion, I'm just saying to own it.

Whenever someone feels the need to tell you there that will be "no discrimination," rest assured there will be plenty of discrimation coming in the future.

"NOBODY has any way of knowing which series has the superior talent this year"----What? You don't know who these guys are? You don't know anything about the teams? Come on man. If you're on this forum, you should be able to make a prediction. I said debate away. You could just tell me why you think I'm incorrect and state some reasons. ??

Did you even read the first sentence of the first post? "No discrimination" was the OP's phrase that he used. Anyone who has read the OP's posts on the topic knows how silly that statement is.

I'm not saying you can't make a prediction, I have no issue with that. All I'm saying is, at least by how I read it, you're saying this year (2026) the WOO has superior talent (maybe a bad choice of words but stick with me), you could say that based on past results BUT this year hasn't happened yet so you can't really say that. For example, last year at this time did you have Ryan Timms winning the Konxville Nationals AND the Tuscarora 50? My only point was by the end of this season lots of things could change.
For instance as a Vikings fan, even though I was not a fan of JJ McCarthey, I said and believed that moving on from Sam Darnold was a good move because he is always going to make a couple stupid throws at some point during the game and against good or great teams they will capitalize on them and I said many times Sam Darnold will never take a team to the Super Bowl. However as of a couple hours ago, not only did Sam Darnold take Seattle to the Super Bowl, he also won it (sure it wasn't his greatest game but he didn't do anything stupid to lose the game). I don't think I was alone in this take because Minnesota didn't give him a fair offer and Seattle didn't off him the amount of money that they would have if they truly believed he could do what he did this year. How does Sam Darnold look now compared to six months ago?

Is it more silly than the constant need for validation? We have two strong touring professional organizations right now with more professional drivers than ever before. Does it benefit anyone to draw lines in the sand?

The two series are good for the fans and drivers. Rico is face of Hi Limit and David the WOO. Buddy and Carson right there too. I like several wondered about split as this is about the first one to survive. Both series have commited drivers and still leaves openings for local teams to compete. The 4 open dates for WOO allows for the best to gather at top venue to share bigger purses. Larson can be spoiler and Day not as consistent but proven winner. To me sprint car racing in general is the big winner. Nascar still popular but losing fans due to lack of real racing and drama lately.

Ok, so we're back to beating the dead horses again. Back forth a hundred times but no one has answered the question on everyone's mind. Can anyone tell me if Schatz is better than Eliason?

We know this:
1. The purses have increased
2. Sponsorship has increased
3. We have double the amount of sprint cars we can watch, in person and on TV. Yes, I'm not counting the racing the all stars provided
4. This takes away some of the top talent regionally....... for a while. This allows other racers to step and shine.
5. This pushes the WOO to up their product, and vice versa
6. It did not take all the top drivers from the WOO, that I've heard MULTIPLE times in person. ( I blame socially media for this )
7. And IMO, it's okay if you're a WOO, or HL homer. I was a Chicago Bulls, Jordan homer in the 90s. It's good to have rivaleries if the points above are true.
This I think:
The WOO is the top series. It has history, the best streaming, brand recognition and the top drivers. One of the top drivers who is a contender to win the HL finished 24th, 13th, and 21st in Florida, not that single race week is indictive of how his year will go, but it does provide some insight.
It's clear the top drivers are Gravel, Buddy, and Carson Macedo. I think Rico is behind those (3) with AR and TC not to far behind him. I think Rico is great, and a big fan. His progress these past few years have been noticable.
Again, I blame social media but WE as a society have been led to think we have to LOVE or HATE something. I know I love sprint car racing and will support that as much as I can.

Great post. It got me thinking---you bring up other drivers, and I'm regularly called a WoO homer and HL hater:
1. My favorite driver is Larson, part owner of the HL series
2. At the Nationals every year, if you asked me to give you the top 10 guys I root for, there are actually more HL drivers than there are WoO drivers.
Off the top of my head, in no particular order:
Larson
Timms
Brown
Rico
Gio
Sunshine (though he was hurt)
A-aron
Day
Balog
Strangely enough Schatz since it's his swan song---used to boo him
People confuse giving an honest perspective with love or hate. As you said, Rico is 4th behind Gravel, Buddy, and Macedo. In my opinion, you're spot on. That doesn't mean I like them more. It's just the way it is. If Larson or Day are in the field, forget the other 4, those are the 2 best drivers in the field. Doesn't guarantee a win.
