Love ya Sammy, but........they ran you out of room?  You may want to watch the replay.   You were all by your lonesome.

I love Sammy as well but jeez this is getting hard to watch every year in the Chili Bowel he's like an old man with his left side blinker on.

I agree.  Yes, he's an old man and I don't expect him to be competitive.  I bought one of his "if we switched cars I'd kick his ass" shirts because I thought it was funny---but it wasn't real.  Sammy dude, you're 70.  I'd put you in Gravel's car and give Gravel the car that won the 360 Nationals and he'd kick your ass.  When you wreck at the Chili Bowl at age 70, and no one else is anywhere near you, just say "I'm not as quick as I used to be, and I #$%ed up."  Simple.  Instead, you make up a story about an imaginary car checking up and crowding you into the cushion.   If you like to race, just race and own up to your own mistake.  I'm getting older too.  I'm not going to pretend my reaction time, vision, and hearing is the same as it was 10 years ago.

I heard it different I guess, I just watched it again and im pretty sure he said "I run outta room" the I got before it wasn't him blaming anyone. He's 70 and still a badass I think he's very misunderstood at times.

You have to respect the Swindell win record at CBNs. They own 23% of the golden drillers.

Ok, I watched it back too.  I was incorrect.  However, he makes reference to someone checking up.   Who?

Sammy was one of the best. What are the odds of him running the alphabet from the Q. Robert is toward front of O but you have to give him credit as He does attend . Robert and Photo Bomber get more TV time than at least 350 of the other racers. Robert stated He hopes to run some USAC shows

I personally think Flo wastes way to much time on the Robert Bell thing. I get it but after 10 plus years of the poor me crap its kinda run its course. So he drug it out of a "corn crib" last week and shows up and usually doesn't run or breaks. I feel like 'ol boy is just there for charity at this point, sorry to sound like a dick but there has to be much better stories in that pit area than him saying the same "I'm here to race and I can beat them" bullsh##.

I'm happy for Kevin Swindell team getting the win... Congratulations, Emerson Axsom!

Friday nite A Main was..a thrilla, great race! Smile

One thing bad about watching on Flo vs. live: You can't watch the back of the field... how in the world did KTJ & Davis fight their way to 2nd & 3rd?!?

I like Robert's story and he seems like a good enough guy, but I'm right there with you. It's enough already. Taking my race fan hat off, I was glad to see that Robert seems to be more healthy and I wish him all the best.

Respect for Sammy for racing Saturday . The Bell-Larson duel didnt happen but lot of action for KTJ and Hank to make podium was great. Grant and Larson were victims of the Chilli Bowl. Fun week but a lot of carnage. KKR got less airtime than Robert. Photo Bomber survived and by what happened probably increased his shirt sales especially when It became known He was donated the proceeds to a good cause. Of couse watched from home but I thought Flo did an admirable job. 360+ racers for 24 spots isnt easy. The last month with shoot out and midgets are their month to shine as the HL WOO Nascar will be the news soon! Not another race where the timing allows the best from many forms of racing and 14 year olds can compete againt 60 year olds. Its not about money but 50/50 sure was.

Shortie1 - was KTJ with his USAC owner Hank Byram of rock steady racing?  Hank is just one of the finest guys owning a sprint car team that you will find anywhere out there.

happy for KTJ and his predecessor at RSR Kyle Cummins who may be the most sincere driver found in any pit area.

overall fun week to watch in dog days of winter in Pa!  Saturday nights feature was a little anticlimactic but nonetheless it was racing!

Lets face it... they have a lot of time to kill on those broadcasts

They're trying to appeal to the Average Joe who will never own or drive a racecar, or is part of a low budget local  team

Oh you are absolutely right about that but it just seems like theres no in-between they are either talking to the kids paying $300k plus for a KKR ride or Robert Bell and the junk yard special. Maybe im wrong but with 400 cars there has to be so.e good stories in that building about father/son race teams that work a job and bust there ass every night in the garage/shop trying to make a racing dream a reality.

Its fun to walk around the pits & meet these guys & see their cars

Last time I was there I had an interesting talk with a guy running a Cadillac V-6...  not sure if it was from a junkyard, but it could have been

I agree.  All of those cars in the pits, there has to be some very interesting stories.  It's seriously time to find a couple of new stories and let the Robert Bell thing go.  There are plenty of guys out there that are actually competitive on a very small budget.

That said, I think Flo does a hell of a job covering this event and making it entertaining for the entire week and then for the entire 10 or 12 hours on Saturday.  And by the way, if I see one more complaint on Facebook about how they "can't see with all of the dust" I'm gonna punch them through my phone.  Its dirt.

And the majority of it is Carbon Monoxide fog anyway hence the dreaded Chili Bowl flu everyone has when they get home.
