The High Limit started with nothing just a few short years ago and continues their march towards securing the lion's share of the market. They aren't there, nor do I know if they'll get there, but that is where they want to go. (as they should if that is their goal) They are growing. If the WoO loses the King's Royal, they are shrinking. That's about as blunt as I can put it. I cannot imagine the WoO sitting idly by while the HL utilizes their drivers for their show and streaming revenue. I wouldn't if I were them anyways.

That makes sense. But HL hasn't "stolen" the Kings Royal yet anyway so its all just conjecture

Hard to know why people don't understand this. This is absolutely the bottom line of what is going on. Thinking anything different is ignorance or naivety.

Are the Outlaws acting out of "ignorance or naivety" when they have an off week?

How about weekends on a normal job?

The Kings Royal Wikipedia artictle infers that the WoO/KR contract was renewed for nine years in 2021 - however, it's worth noting the archived source article doesn't specifically mention that.

I am enjoying the split. I have been upfront and still am questioning the Flo/HL relationship - this frankly is a streaming company funding a dirt track racing organization, but it's gone well. Regardless of all the shit people want to give DRG, it's primary product is dirt track racing.

Flo has a ton of private equity involved - at some point, that PE will want paid. And honestly, it doesn't take a statistics major to glance at the stands between the two series and notice that virtually every WoO sprint event is jam packed. Objectively, I don't think High Limit can say the same.

I understand this post sounds very much one-sided for the Outlaws, and I can acknowledge that I possibly have a blind bias and that's true. I still believe that the WoO is the gold standard but very much look forward to High Limit's efforts to take that over. Competition is the best for fans of this sport.

Be careful.  Making observations will get you called a "WoO Fanboy"

Kings Royal is also back on the WoO schedule page for 2026. It may happen but it doesn't make sense to me that short of a ton of money from Flo, that Eldora would change. They seem to have the best of both worlds now. WoO is greatly incentivized to put money into the race in both purse and promotion, and they still have Flo as a partner for all the other races.

I see it now, thanks for the update.

I hope it stays this way for the future.  I'm a little confused as to why it took so long to get on the schedule.  Something had to have been going on behind the scenes is all that makes sense.  It was announced in July, and doesn't make it on the official schedule until just now?  Hmmm.  We will see in 2027, but happy the WoO still has it and DV keeps one of its bread and butter events.

I think that the best thing for Sprint Car racing is to broaden our view and look at the big picture.  On any given night we can watch streaming races with full fields from the comfort of our homes.  That includes two national touring series, NARC, the All Stars, Knoxville, Husets and some weekly PA tracks.  IRA, Super Late Models or a trip to our local tracks for wing and non-wing limited Sprints and USAC.

If a person isn't into streaming there are weekly shows and regional series.  I'm stuck home with low immunity and haven't been to a live race in three years and am facing another round of medical treatments.  The only 410 I have been around in over three years is in my neighbors garage.  At this point any live Sprint Car race would be awesome.  HL and WoO comparisons are a waste of time.  Go see what you like and remember that it could all be taken away without knowing what hit you.  I was in chemo from November last year through this August and start another round of maintenance before a complex procedure later this year.  Sprint Car races are fun entertainment and nothing worth arguing about.  I started going to dirt tracks in 1960 and have seen sanctions and favorite drivers come and go.  It all runs together after 65 years.

Stan - first and most importantly prayers for your tough journey! Second, thanks for the perspective - I believe we all can occasionally take so much for granted.  Please know I really enjoy reading your thoughts and your perspective.  Keep the pedal to the metal in your fight.

As the weather turns cold the reality of being 3 to 3 1/2 months away from the start of a new season is a reminder to enjoy any sprint car race.  Admire the drivers as they strap into open cockpits. Next season when we all inevitably get to discussing everything that is wrong in the world of sprint car racing - my wish is for you to repost your post as reminder it could be cold and all us bored without the sport everyone on here loves.

II have owned driven and now a fan of sprint cars. Flo and dirtvision have helped  raise purses and I think sprint car racing with the two series has helped teams that compete but making the A is an accomplishment. The big paying races need the top drivers and WOO 4race rule and HL not scheduling against WOO if they arent santioning body make sence. . The cost just to show up and qualify is said to be more than most purses pay for 10th place. Sponsors are key to keepimg things going. FLO has had to be paying part of purse as mid week race crowds have been slim.

What Stan said. Period. Go do stuff. Take advantage while you can. Last night I went to what I correctly predicted would be my deceased friend's kid last high school football game. It was 39 degrees and raining but I went. Kid was crying after the game but wouldn't let go of my hand as he repeatidly thanked me for coming. Priceless. No regrets driving an hour to freeze my ass off.

No worries about me, I'm dealing with that and still have a path forward.  I am blessed and content, just not getting out as much as I'd like.

Longevity aka being old gives me my perspective on racing.  In the early 60's I watched drivers todays fans may have never heard of.  Sanctions were the IMCA and USAC Fair circuits and in those days the IMCA was a major player and not the stock car and modified deal we see today.  I saw USA come and go in '89 and NST for one year around 2006 and was interacting with the drivers of fifteen years ago as a writer and picture taker so I'm partial to that era.

High Limit looks Like it's here to stay but nobody is certain how sustainable the charter payouts and mid week races will be.  At some point I think they may get up by us but at this point I think of them as a TV series for the upper Midwest.   WoO did the legwork for 47 years bringing their races to every possible market in the US and so far HL is maxed out at around 60 races and prides themselves in that number of races.  Where do they go from here?  Stay at 60 shows and avoid large sections of the US or become another 80+ race sanction and persue those 410 racing markets they're not getting into?  Is taking their series to fans all over the US even their intent and if not what Is their ultimate goal?  I don't lose anymore sleep over racing than I do about the Vikings QB situation but it's all interesting to follow.
