The freedom to race whenever was debunked the first week of the first HL season. All teams were in Florida in February as usual, I don't think any HL drivers raced with the WoO that week, unlike what most of the AllStars teams used to do. I know Rico didn't race in them because when I asked him why on facebook he removed my post!

Freedom to race wasn't debunked… The freedom to race means exactly as it sounds, that high limit members CAN race if they choose to. It does not mean that they will choose to attend a particular race, it just means they have the ability to do so if they wish. Being a single man, I could date Jessica Alba, if I chose to, I simply choose not to ;-) (if only!!)

Here's a hypothetical question for the 'WoO needs to mention their competition' folks.

Let's say Don Henley was a big race fan and starts up a 3rd traveling series called the 'Take It to the Limit Desperados of Rock-n-Roll Sprint car Series', and half the drivers from HL join up. Now the sport is fractured 3 ways. They have some good tracks on board, criss-crossing the country from the East Coast to Winslow Arizona. They have some decent paying races, Life In The Fast Victory Lane is popping off.

Do you think the High Limit series should or would mention them, you know, for the good of sprint car racing?

Exactly!

Ever hear Fox sports promoting the NFL broadcast on CBS.  ESPN telling you what great programming Fox has?  The Voice telling you what great talent is over on American Idol?

Yah, never. Unreal the logic some of you have.

We agree.

In a perfect world for the fans, the HL and WoO do exactly as miledirtfan says and turn the majors into joint events.  Fingers crossed this would happen---but let's be realistic.  Realistically, as a shareholder in either, I would demand my series steal the show from the other series.  This is why we don't see McDonald's and Burger King joint ventures.  This is why Ford and Chevy aren't working together to maximize each other's sales.  This isn't greed.  It also isn't pride.  It's just @%#ing business!

I will continue to stick to my guns.  IF the HL wishes to drive the WoO out of business, they will do so with a business model that all of the previous WoO haters will then despise, and all we will have done is a complete 360, and we will be right back where we started.  One series.  Too big for their britches.  Favoring their drivers.  Greedy.  Officials that come in and take over the track.  Too much time in the work area.  Yada, yada, yada.  Why?  Because overall, we're a bunch of whiny sniveling babies that can't have nice things......................

egras...why do you think having a young and most intuitive business model is greedy?  splain please, curious!

If I remember correctly, was it not Brad Sweet that said that High Limit was formed to better sprint car racing??  Hmmm!?!  Does not sound like this is happening based on the moves being made and the discussion on this thread.

really?

The HL guys are free to run the big events that are WOO sanctioned they just are not able to share in the money WOO card carrying members get for their loyalty. Not many WOO attended rheir full allotment of 4 races . HL has helped sprint car racing and allowed several teams to make the A that wouldnt if 5/6 of the top teams like 5/83/41/17 were there everynight.

Yeah really.  High limit is doing the same thing the outlaws are doing.  What's the difference, a chuck-a-luck wheel or giving fans an remote chance to win money....and I do mean remote.  They are both the same, it all depends on your loyalty as a driver or team owner.....do you support Kyle and Brad or do you support the World of Outlaws?

It also comes down to dollars and cents, currently there are easily enough drivers and teams to support 2 different sprint car series.  Look how the talent is divided up.  You have a certain amount of drivers who could win every night, a certain amount that win occasionally, and a certain amount that win once in a blue moon or not at all.  There is no doubt decisions being made on which series gives me the driver or team, the best chance to be financially successful......whatever that is in sprint car racing!!
