Holy crap I'm getting old. That was 10 years ago already. Kyle has a right to race and who knows, maybe Hendrick gets a sub if Kyle puts it in the show which he probably will. Maybe put a lap in and get a sub so he gets the points and fly to Knoxville? Who knows, should be good drama though.

I am also devasted about this. Nascar should really re-think this conflict, or at least mention the HL series throughout their broadcast to help promote racing as a whole.

Let's be real here.   NASCAR doesn't give a rat's @$$ about sprint car racing or HL.

I wouldn't say that's completely true. They know they can do what they want, as long as they can get the broadcasting time.
But it's one of the pipelines for future drivers.

Surely NASCAR will see the errors of their ways and change the date of their race so that there's no conflict for Larson.

I think we're all devastated for Kyle and all the High Limit fans....

It cracks me up that any time there is a mention of Kyle Larson, HL, or anything tangentially related to HL you're the first one to jump in and start spewing all kinds of negativity. It's very predictable.  Almost like you're a WoO-Fanboy version of Winged Strawser :-).  Make sure you don't watch any of the Gold Cup over the next few days.  You wouldn't want to be perceived as supporting HL..

Agree. I watch whatever open wheel stuff is either in my area or on TV whether it be WoO, HL, NARC, USAC, Local stuff, etc.  I just don't get the HL hate. Do people not remember that WoO started the Xtreme midget series which competes against USAC, or WoO late models when there were already touring DLM series, or way back.... Gumout series to compete against ASCoC?  I don't get it... just be a frickin' race fan!  (Unless you like street stocks as a support class) :-D

Keeping Kyle and the HL faithful in my thoughts and prayers over this horrible betrayal by NASCAR is not being negative.....

I think some people on here forget that one driver is never bigger than the sport itself.  Not Kinser, not Swindell, and certainly not Larson, who isn't a full time sprint car driver anyway.   I think some people forget that Larson chooses not to be a full time sprint car driver and shouldn't be surprised when there are conflicts with him racing big events.   It's not like it hasn't happened before.

Completely untrue, Kyle is the reason each and every one of us show up at Knoxville. I predict a crowd similar to a local show for the Nationals next year unless Nascar reverses this travesty.
