I don't watch them anyway so I prefer no support class.

The Outlaws generally only allow one support class at a track. Last night at Jackson they had none.

I agree with Willie, no one who is spending $40-50 to see Woo or High Limit is looking for the support class to make their decision to come watch the races. I think in today's soceity people want to get in and get out, 2-3 hours entertainment gets it done. People want the experience, fan zone, head to the pits after the races, and be entertained not watching countless modified yellow flags.
Probably the only time I think a support class is needed is if you are going into an area and going to have a 3 heat program due to car count then it is probably wise to have 1 support class that requires no B main to add a little meat to the program and give guys a few minutes to work on their cars.

Having a heavier fender class with narrower tires as the suport class at a sprint car race helps widen out the track, producing a better sprint car feature.

i'm pretty much in this category. Port royal was a joy Saturday night as it was a two division show that after honoring Barry Camp and Mark Smith was run very effeciently.
Two divisions only 410's and Late models and only a consi for the 410's. i'm going to be honest if it is a 3 division show there I generally don't go especially if it is the LLM and 305's as the support classes.....just a brutal for ME on those nights.
i have absolutely loved Selinsgroves last two 410 shows one support division and no consolations!!!! Loved DD's victory lane interview even more....i believe he said it was one of the best surfaces he raced on all year.

I agree with Murphy on this. I like to see one support class that will help to widen out the track. Make it a class that they either pill draw or group qualify while they hot lap, I don't mind if they have a b-main as long as they make sure that the main division is priority.
The HL shows are trying a new strategy where there is no support division and they try to get in and out in a couple hours and folks can get their kids to the pits and I say good on them for trying something new, but I am an old fogey and I want to spend a little more time than that at the track.

I am fine with no support classes but a lot of that has to do with the fact that most of the races here in Ohio that the Outlaws or HL are at either bring nearly 50 + cars or they have another national touring series (USAC sprints for Let's race 2 and 4 Crown). Like one commentor said, in areas where there are only enough cars for 3 heats, I can see where another class is needed as long as it does not narrow the track or ruin it for the featured class.
With some of the regional touring series both sprint and late model around here, there have been certain promoters that have overloaded the support classes. It gets to the point where the track is not good come feature time or it makes for a late night due to needless spins and cautions.

I like the support classes as long as they are Sprintcars (305s or 360s). I guess I'm a Sprintcar car fan not exclusively a 410 fan.
