Very low point totals again for the Wednesday night show.  Thursday the track widens out and the points go up.

As a racer I'd want to avoid Wednesday if I possibly could.

Exactly.  That is why in my opinion that the too 8 in points should be locked in from each night.

Now the Wednesday night guys have to sit and wait and hope they earned enough points.

Every team should have the chance to control it's own destiny.   And that is by making each qualifying night lock in 8 cars.

Whatever the track conditions are for that night each team battled each other and the track that night.  No one can complain then about which night got the better track..

With all the rain we got last night and this morning tonight's track might be even more locked down.

Just saw the radar, that's unfortunate. Friday night Hard Knox might be crazy.

I'm keeping track of pill draws and their impact on results this week. So far, not as bad as I would have thought. The average spot in qualifying for the top 10 in points is 21. Day went out earliest, in 3rd and Austin McCarl went out latest as the 41st car out. 4 of the top 10 went out in the last half of qualifying (26th or later).

No one from the last practice session made the top 10 but had Hunter not punted Gravel that probably would not be the case as the 2 looked very fast.

That makes sense

To start the "Annual Format Discussion", I think inversion of 8 in the heats is too big. It should be 6. Only one top qualifier made it out of heats, think it was similar last year. I like to give "the little guys" a chance, but front part of A Main last nite didn't have anybody who was dominant in their local track or tour (all good racers, nonetheless). I used to think Time Trials were over rated, now I think top qualifiers kinda got screwed... obviously no perfect solution....

Now somebody is gonna say the format is perfect, "cream rises to the top"

I have been saying invert 6 for several years.  Everybody has equal equipment now.
