Why don't they just make the 360 Nationals the 410 pre-nationals and have them run 410's since it's mostly shameless 410 drivers cherry picking anyways? Just make it a 410 race or else have a pre-requiste of a certain number of 360 races competed in to be eligible. It's become a freakin' joke. Hardly any of the top 360 drivers in the country even attend anymore.

I don't know why Knoxville would consider changing anything about their schedule at all.  The crowd for this show is awesome and the roster every year gets better and better all of the time.

Also, if they changed this to a "pre-lim" 410 weekend, you'd lose 1/2 the cars.  Many of those 360 guys either don't have a 410 or would choose to sit out and save it for the 410 Nats due to budget.  You'd have 50% field with the Outlaws in MO, and many of the 360 guys bowing out.

From a promoters perspective it seems to be a success but I do cringe reading all the 410 names.

It might be good to keep it restricted to 360 guys and more lower budget teams may take up the opportunity. That might grow the sport.

Then, there would have to be a very specific description of a "360 guy."  It would kill the numbers and attendance if it were only guys who ran nothing but 360's.

I agree (keep the 360 Nationals though because historically it is a damn good race) - If the average number of your races ran are, lets say 25-35% - Then you are eligable to enter the 360 Nationals.

And if it is 65-75% of races ran are in 410's then you are not eligable...

Obviously anybody should be able to enter the 410's.

They haven't officially split the field yet. They'll probably split it sometime this week.

The World of Outlaws was born out of a bunch of racers who came to your town, raced under your rules, and still kicked your ass and took the big money.  Everybody loved it; enough so that Ted Johnson made his name by wrangling all them Outlaws into a schedule.  Flash forward more than 45 years and the WoO is all corporatized and not really outlawish.  Teams get "atta-boys" from fans when they announce a "true outlaw" schedule.  But with big money on the line, we're suddenly supposed to not want big names to act like true outlaws because it's a 360 race?  Not to mention getting laps for the 410 Nationals the following week?  I don't want to be the "get off my lawn" guy, but I don't follow the logic.  I thought people didn't like participation trophies.  I like seeing low budget and underdog teams win, too.  But I've never understood how you can tell anyone who has the credentials that they aren't allowed to race in your event(s).

Took me a while to understand the poster. Was thinking the HL were getting free airtime at the expense of the sanctioning WoO. Those dirty rats at Knoxville are making this a 3 dog rivalry.
