1. Good races both nights, track prep awesome, diversity in fields(one dash had a nascar driver, posse, local, outlaws and hl drivers.
2. After seeing some of the races in Ohio and NW...do promoters try and lose fans with shi$$y track prep?
3. Everyone I ran into, either at HOF or the track, was very nice.
4. Some nice golf courses around there
5. Brad Sweet, his wife and daughter were on our flight. Never talked to him much before this, but seems like a nice guy.
6. Donny Schatzs mom found a shirt for me that I couldnt find anywhere. Talked to her for quite a while, very nice lady.
7. Awesome races, great golf. All around great weekend
ps the tenderloin sammich is really good
pps was impressed with Martin in the 44(local car). Ran well and clean.
ppps too many black cars? JMO

I was there!
My thoughts:
No complaints from me! Friday night was better racing than Saturday night, but not due to lack of effort. Just works out that way sometimes. (and Saturday night was good!) That place is always prepped as well as it can be, whether it works out in the end, or not. It races like a 1/4 or 1/3 mile. It was as close to Nationals conditions as you can get in June. If that rings true, Gravel has the ride to challenge Larson! I know someone else will rise to the top in August, but right now, Gravel appears to be ready to rumble!
(and before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, yes I know Day won Saturday night, and he was bad fast, but Gravel's car was much faster at lap 25----which bodes well for him in August.)

If it were not for the lap car on that last turn 4 ditch effort, He may not have made the pass but it would have been another close finish like Friday nights show.

I agree. I think it would have been a drag race to the checkers---most likely with Day beating him to the line, but you never know. Sometimes guys find unexpected traction.

I was very impressed by how good Gravel's car was late in both features. Good enough to challenge Larson's dominance? Don't know but it'll fun to find out!

I need to know more about the golf. I've never played when I've been out there. I know all about the racing and the food.

Pella and Knoxville have fun courses. A couple of em arent open to the public on Fridays and Saturdays(closed for members). Courses were in great shape. As were the bugs. If bugs bother you bug spray may come in handy
