He was practicing his patented slide job on the parade lap and once again misjudged his closing speed.

Antioch is one of the most peculiar tracks I've ever been to. And in line with your 'crazy chit happened' comment:
With it being so close to the ocean, the high tides affect the water table below the track surface, and one night when we raced there, the high tide coincided around the general time the feature would be running - and the track started getting heavier.
The locals were totally in tune with this phenomenom, so we were waiting to see if it actually happened that night - and it did.
My guess is there may be a few other tracks that this can happen at, possibly Ventura?
But this was the only track I've seen it happen in person.
Was pretty dang cool...and talking about adding a big monkey wrench to chassis setup for the feature, jeez!

I had never thought of that, but it makes sense and puts a new spin on things

Karma. I'm glad the man wasn't hurt, but that kind of mishap couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

If you watched the NARC race tonight.....vintage Justin Sanders. Ryan Bernal passed him for the lead then paid the price as Sanders took himself and Bernal out of the race. I wonder why NorCal fans boo Sanders? It's a complete mystery to me…

What did Sanders ever do to piss you off so much? That was a racing deal. I didn't see you crying about Netto taking out Becker last week.

He made fun of my 3 legged dog. After rewatching, I think you're right about it being a racing deal. I guess I was wro.....wro....wr. Not-exactly-right.
