3rd win of the year.  2 against the travelers and one regular show at Knoxville.  How many does the 15 have?

Donny looked good at Eldora. Rainout Sat. Rico looked good Sat in Texas where Larson shines is the shorter rougher tracks where He seems to enter corners with more speed on long smooth tracks hard to make up speed as cars are all fast. I read Larsons tenative schedule for May and hard to beleive with Indy500 plus Nascar and HL how many races He has planned,

That's all he's got to show for it? With the one and only Ricky Warner, the king-maker as his crew chief, shouldn't he be winning everything? Or, were you wrong about that too?

I think its pretty clear that Warner has helped Rico, & did great things with Donny. If Strawser wasn't obsessing about him, it wouldn't even be a debate. He's a terrific crew chief, not a Magician!

I'm glad you asked Strawser.  Here are the stats:

Rico, since Ricky Joined the team:   33 wins in 220 races.  A very respectful win every 6.7 races.

Donny, when he was 30, 31, 32 and 33 years of age (like Rico is now), with Ricky on the wrenches (prorated for this year's partial season):  60 wins in 236 races.  A win every 3.93 races.

Oh wait, you meant how is 47 year-old Donny doing now compared to 33 year old Rico?  Why would we compare that?  What's next, are you going to claim Cory Eliason is better than Sammy because Sammy hasn't won a 410 race this year?

Rico is only going to get better and better. Thankful I've been able to see him run Knoxville  during non WOO and Non Knoxville Nats nights and could tell he's made progress.

Would be a popular win for sure in August on Saturday night. I love Larson but his popularity in winning the Nats has wanned.

There's a lot of variables and everything has to go his way but I agree he should be right there. On the Outlaw night, if that race were to go a couple more laps I think the 57 would have taken the win. I'm with you though, Even though I love to watch Larsen race, I want to see someone besides the 57 in Victory lane.

I still want to see them go back to old school and bring back the full 10 car invert.

Agree with most of what you're saying.  Even as a Larson fan, I would have been just as excited last year to see Gio go up and make the pass for the lead and the win.

However, I do not want to see them go back to a 10 car invert.  Having Robert Bell caliber cars on the front row of a heat on prelim night would be a disaster.  And because the car counts are hovering right around that 100 number every year, there would be some very slow cars starting off these heats.  8 car inverts at least puts the 80 fastest cars in the invert and leaves the guys 2 seconds off the pace in the back where they belong.

Fact if Donny still had Ricky he would be a fast and probably have a few wins by now.  I don't care how old the driver is if the car handles it will be up front! Donny would also be a threat for the Championship....not now!

If that were true, wouldn't Rico be winning everything in sight right now?

That was NOT Rico's fault.  That was a racing deal.

I like Rico but that was definitely his fault.  Way too early in the main for that kind of move and pretty much ruined a race that had a lot of promise.

Which series championship do you think he'll win this year?

Do you think he will close the gap on number of Knoxville Nationals wins on Schatz? I believe the current score is 11 to 0.

He took out the leader, which also took out the two super cars in the event. That's not exactly the greatest driving skills from a guy you've put on the invincibility pedestal.

So now you know more about a particular incident than the guy actually driving the car....

I don't even know what to say...
