Can we get Craid Dollansky in the NSCHOF? I recently listened to a podcast from the Drivers Project and they mentioned Craig isn't in the HOF, which blew my mind, and theirs. How is this even possible...

Yea, why not. It seems everybody and their brother is in the HOF which makes it seem almost meaningless.

Rather than have your head explode, I would suggest you inquire at the Knoxville HOF building sometime over the next couple of weeks for your answer. I'm pretty sure there will be someone there available to give you an answer. Perhaps you would be given the procedure of how nominations are made. You do make a valid point, and I agree with you.

That's the sad fact of racing HOFs. They're great at first but when compared to traditional stick and ball sports HOFs don't have the same signifigance. In stick and ball sports the number of people who are really on top of the game is far more but the time they do it is far less. Take for instance the NFL HOF, there seems to be an unwritten rule that wide receivers have to wait a year or two before they get in, every year there is a debate on who got in and who got left out and people get really upset about those decisions. The last wide receiver I can remember getting in, in his first year of eligibility is Randy Moss and rightfully so in my opinion, the guy literally changed the game of football. Before he came in, most teams ran the ball the majority of the time and for the most part only threw a deep pass out of desperation or if they saw a really obvious mismatch because more often than not, it didn't work. But Randy Moss made the deep ball work more often than not (I don't have actual statistics). I know he had a pretty long career, maybe 15 years? But he was really only super dominant for 5-8 years max. And throughout his career he played with tons of other people who were just as, if not more dominant in their position or changed the game as much or more than he did (Tom Brady, Peyton Manning etc.). Now compare that to Steve Kinser's career or sprint car racers in general. Most of them have a career that lasted twenty plus years and were one of the best the majority of time they raced. I'm sure the top 10 of the WOO win list who are retired are already inducted. So who do you add now?
A better example of how a racing HOF is a joke is to look at NASCAR's HOF. People had a cow when Dale Jr. got in on his first year of eligibility. Which I understand, how does a guy with 18 wins and only semi seriously contended for a championship once get in on his first try? But who should've gone in instead of him? Red Farmer also got in that same year, who to my knowledge never had a top 10 finish in the cup series. They allowed too many people in and instead of it being an exclusive club of the greatest, it's more like a participation trophy for people that hung around the longest in the sport. I wish they had inducted three people the first year and only one every year after. It would've been more fun to have the debate of who's more worthy this year, Tony Stewart or Jeff Gordon being more deserving than having people who really aren't deserving because there's nobody else to put in.

Just because you don't agree with who is in, doesn't make it a joke.

I think all the people in the NSCHOF are deserving. I believe the process of nominating has come up on this forum. And not to discredit anyone else in the HOF, but thought with Craig's accolades, he'd be in. Maybe someone will see this post and it will spur him on the ballot.

I'm not so sure the HOF is a joke. There are literally 100's of thousands of people who have been involved in sprint car racing. To induct a dozen (give or take) people to the HOF every year is not letting "everybody and their brother" in.

The WoO have basically controlled sprint car racing for 45 years and Dollansky is tied for 14th all time in wins. He definitely should be in.

The WoO site is showing he has 66 Outlaw wins. That's more than a few other that are already inducted. I would hope he'd be in soon.
