How bout TJ Stutts beating the Outlaws at Williams Grove last night ? Sprintcarratings.com has TJ rated #83 and he passed David Gravel on lap 1 and held him off the next 29 laps.
I listened (for free) on Dirtvision and it seemed like Johnny said that David was about to pass him about 17 of the 30 laps. It was an exciting race to listen to.
Congratulations TJ Stutts and his 2 boys who serve as his pit crew !

Clean air is a big deal at Grove. He beat the best. I saw it on Dirt Vision but they stayed focused on lead cars. Didnt appear a lot of passing.Nice to see a local car do well.

Gravel did pass Stutts at around lap 20 going into turn 3, but Stutts passed Gravel right back in turn 4. I guess you could say that Stutts earned that win.

Congtats to TJ. That was only his third career win at Williams Grove, and his second this season, which broke a 19 year winless streak. You have to go back to 2013 to see a crowd reaction like that, when Fred Rahmer won the National Open, and basically retired on the spot. TJ could always time trial well at The Grove, as evidenced on being the one lap track record holder, but had trouble getting wins. Well deserved.

I liked his interview. Pretty good for only doing it every 19 years. He honored Gravel while enjoying his own victory. And humbly apologized to the promoter while uplifting his local opponents. Never really followed the guy and knew nothing of him other than his name. But his jnterview earned my respect.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

I agree, there is nothing wrong with the local guy winning, especially one that is not a regular winner. Same thing happened in Knoxville with Tasker Phillips getting his first ever 410 win against a bunch of heavy hitters.

That was one that will be talked about for a long time to come. What a special night. Hollywood would pay good money for a script like that. TJ has taken his share of lumps over the years and he totally earned that one. Gravel threw everything at him and he kept him at bay.

When I re-watch that race in Dirtvision Vault, I STILL think Gravel is going to win.
