I've been asked why I hate the High Limit.   Some do hate the idea of the High Limit.  I do not.  I don't think Brad and Kyle are ruining sprint car racing.  I also think Rico's comments were correct----but not everyone hates the HL just because they support the Outlaws.  I don't think Brad, Kyle and the HL are idiots just because I support the Outlaws.

I think the fans that are hoping for the HL to kill the Outlaws---are idiots.

I think the fans that hate the "greedy, and shady" World of Outlaws, but are embracing the HL, that is slowly, and will slowly be forced to incorporate the same "tactics"-----are idiots.  (I put tactics in quotes, because I call them smart business decisions, while idiots think they are tactics)

I think fans that call out the World of Outlaws for not taking care of their drivers (i.e. 4 race maximum non-sanctioned events) and then, in the same breath,  complain about preferential treatment for souvenir trailers, fantasy work area rules infractions, and provisionals-----are idiots.

I think fans that are relieved that the HL schedule doesn't include as many races----as more races means more expense, more tire costs, more travel, more wear and tear, and more operating expenses-----while bashing the World of Outlaws for not allowing the teams to run more races, which are then miraculously labeled as opportunities for profit-----are idiots.  Either running more races means more opportunities for profit OR it means addtiional expense these teams cannot swallow.  Only one or the other.  You don't get to complain that an Outlaw team is not allowed to run this highly profitable event on an off weekend, and then praise the HL for a shorter schedule, thus saving teams money.  If you do this, you are an idiot.

I think fans that hate the "greed" of the Outlaws, are starting to hate the "greed" of Sweet and Larson, and will soon hate the greed of anyone associated with both series----are idiots.  I cannot believe the number of Outlaw haters still out there that think Brad and Kyle are doing this out of the kindness of their hearts to help out the little guy.  They're (rightfully so) doing this as a business, complete with investors, and the expectation of making money.  And hopefully, a lot of money.  If the HL and the Outlaws are able to make a LOT of money doing this, it's good for all of us!  Not bad.  If you think high profits, by either of these organizations, is bad-----you are an idiot.

If you think paying $20,000 to win races vs. $10,000 makes the biggest difference in putting these teams on the road---you're an idiot.  Bigger purses are great.  The overwhelming majority of sprint car teams, local, regional, or national, race WITH money, not FOR money.  The purses are nice, and they are sometimes a HUGE part of the driver's final "take."  But, these cars are put on the road by big sponsors, wealthy family, wealthy owners, wealthy donors, or, in the case of a few low budget teams, taking care of older equipment and making parts last.  But those low budget teams don't really care if the show went from $10,000 to win, to $20,000 to win----they'll never see it.  If you try to pencil out motor rebuilds, tires, fuel, crew costs, wings and misc. parts with purse money from a race---you're an idiot.

If you think becoming a "True Outlaw" would have been the most profitable way to go, prior to the HL series joining the conversation----you are an idiot.  Certain guys have the money behind them to do so, and certain guys (Brent Marks 2 years ago for example) had the finishes to back up that decision.  See the above----being a true outlaw works with money.  Being a true outlaw does not work in 2023, if you're racing for the money.  You must be racing with the money.   If you think you can pencil out a true outlaw schedule, for a driver with no big financial backing, you are an idiot.

If you think purses should have already gone up, while somehow maintaining the gate costs from 1990----you are an idiot.  Everyone wants the higher purses the HL is advertising.  I've already seen some complaining about how these purses are going to be paif for.  I'm going to assume, if not in 2024, by 2025, gate prices are going to have to increase, right?  So, yes, it is great that the HL has "forced the Outlaws hand" to raise their game and not be so "greedy"-----as you say.  But how do you think this is getting paid for?  The fan has to pay to play.  If you think we can make a living for more and more sprint car drivers across the country, but think it shouldn't cost more to see this happen----you are an idiot.

I will attend both HL and Outlaw races with NO issues with either organization.  I think both have a solid model going forward, though I do think the HL will end up having to do more to "control"----as many of you call it----their product by dangling carrots in front of their teams to get them to their events.  I would also not rule out signed contracts, and limitations for drivers of non-sanctioned events down the road.  Some of these control ideas, have been call greed in the past for those criticizing the WoO.  I think they will be good, sound decisions used to protect their investments.  So no, I don't hate the HL at all. Quite to contrary.  I hate the fan that hates the Outlaws for acting like a big-boy, professional business, and then love the HL like theyre a charity for the sprint car world and rural fans, when they are indeed, a big-boy, professional business, and we should expect the same ideas to come from them, as we have seen from the Outlaws.  I wish both series the best of luck and will follow both very closely!

This is the way I see it as well.  Plus, nothing can be done by bitching about it anyways.  Just enjoy it.

Subscribe to Flo and DirtVision. Watch the races at home and save time and money. I will go to the races I can even some local ones with Sprint Cars and enjoy it all. The beauty of streaming both services is you can watch the races when you want to for roughly $1 a day plus your internet cost of course.  How can you beat that?

If your local track supports a weekly 410 show I am willing to make a trade.  You come to one of our local tracks that runs eight classes of stock cars and Modifieds and I'll support your weekly Sprint Car track.

My "local" regular sprint car show is 360's in Plymouth, Wisconsin roughly 2 hrs and 15 minutes each way. Wilmont is 3 hrs 45 minutes each way. Beaver Dam's two tracks about 2 hrs 30 minutes each way. Angell Park about 3 hours each way. 141 Speedway is only 90 minutes each way. Not a great sprint car track it seems. I'll still go there for the IRA 410's when they run. Plymouth has too many classes I don't really care for. Late Models only race 6 times in Plymouth now.

Will Do!!!  As always.  OP bored me to death after the first sentence. I'm not sure how, but some of us might survive this Biblical racing rift, sorry for the ones that don't, but not really.

I am not sure it is either HL or WOO's fault if an area doesn't have enough 410's to help fill a field. Like I said in another post Brent Marks going HL is the only thing that has changed anything about my race race season and I am pretty sure I will be ok. If there are not 410's in an area there won't likely be money to be made having a race there. Making money is what it is all about for track owners and there isn't enough streaming money to do that without fans in the stands. I am not sure people who live outside sprint car hotbeds understand the crowds in those areas or how much streaming hurts them. Right now we are a long way away from streaming paying to have good purses for the race teams. My problem with streaming and I do have Flo is that no one films a race the way I watch a race.

Filming it is not.  Video folks.  I agree that they tend to follow the leaders a lot. A very good director needs to cover the battles but that is hard to do given the few resources (cameras) that they have. The streaming companies are very low budget compared to even regional sports networks. From watching it appears that many streaming events are two operated high cameras, a handheld camera for interviews and maybe a locked down speed shot or two. Regional baseball and basketball games have at least 5 operated cameras some as many as 12.  Way more budget.Lots more of everything.  The bigger events have a few more cameras. They like drones it seems.

I read that in Jeff Foxworthy's voice.  "If everyone that disagrees with you is an idiot...you..might be a redneck!". wink

I was thinking more like Grandpa Simpson yelling at a cloud.

It might be more productive if instead of calling people "idiots" who disagree with you, you tell everyone about your resume and why your opinion is more important than anybody else's.  Maybe tell everyone about the national racing series that you ran and why things can only be done one way?  Tell us all about what these streaming contracts are like.  Or maybe tell us about what running a WOO team was like vs. when you did it as a true outlaw.  Or tell us about the track you owned and what all went into that.  If you haven't done this, how are you any more "informed" or smarter than the "idiots"?

Here's my opinion, and this might be controversional but if you disagree with me, you're NOT an idiot, we just have a different opinion.  I don't have a crystal ball and can't see the future but this is what I think will happen.  There isn't enough cars to run 2 full time series.  So I believe in 5 years there won't be 2 different series.  What will it be?  I honestly don't know, it depends on what the WOO and HL want.  If you believe what Brad Sweet and Kyle Larson say, they want to "advance" sprint car racing, then this will all be good in the future for sprint car racing.  If they're doing this for ego or to try to take down the WOO then this might be a very bad situation going forward.  What I hope happens is in a couple years there is a merger between the the WOO and HL.  The HL will hopefully have some new ideas and maybe some of them can be incorporated into the WOO in the future.

As I've said before there is more than one way to skin a cat.  I don't think anyone knows what the Flo deal is and what it entails.  This could play a huge role in what ticket prices are.  But a few other things, I haven't seen one fan on here say they want the WOO to die, you accused me of saying this one time also but I've never said or thought that and I don't think anyone on here has either.  I think some fans would like to see some changes but I don't think anyone truly wants to see the WOO die.  And it's OK if you don't agree with everything the WOO does.  As I've said before, I don't agree with everything the NFL does but that certainly doesn't mean I want it to go away.  I also haven't seen on here anyone saying the WOO is greedy or shady, maybe they have but I've missed that if they have.  I think people who put words in other people's mouths are idiots.

^^^^^^  Excellent post from Hardon!   I agree with him.    Years ago the logic was "we've gotta get sprint cars on TV to advance the sport and take it to another level".    Yet there was a problem with that.   Sprint car racing was never a good fit for live TV and it could never get off the ground.    Very little time was spent racing and the time was filled with countless driver interviews and other boring stuff.    Things are different now but the same question remains, can the sport be taken to another level?    I agree with Hardon that there aren't enough cars or fans here for this to work.   Does HL have a plan for drawing new fans to the sport other than Larson's popularity.   Are new drivers coming into the sport?    New car owners?    I don't see how it can work without the two series trying to work together, but they're just going to try and tear each other down.    We'll see how it works though and we'll find out if it sprint car racing can reach "another level" whatever that is.    What do I know though, I'm just an idiot...

Let's all just sit back and see how all of this plays out. Myself, I'm going to sit back and enjoy watching my favorite type of race car. Teams will drop off each series for a variety of reasons. Your major shows will still have cars from each battling side by side. The only thing I can see happening is woo loosening there rule on 4 races. It's dumb, and it has been that way since they started it. I agree with Rico's comments but with hesitation.  The guys that are good will always be on top, new talent is something in sprint car racing that takes time, a long time. Will this bring new owners and teams to the sport is there biggest challenge. I for one will wait and see how all this plays out. I for one will be in Brunswick Ga. when the sprint cars run golden isles.  That place is fast,  real fast...

I would just like to know who you are talking too, or answering because this post has nothing to do with original post. Quite a few of your posta are like this, and they jump all over the place.  Do you know how to use the reply button?  Just sayin

Guess it is tough for a few folks to follow the whole group conversasions it appears without repeating them over and over. I think cutting and pasting is silly. Wates a lot of space too. Not sure how to fix a poor memory or teach people multi tasking thinking.. I could type slower . . . . .
