Yes, it's been rumored for a long time and I guess now they've gone ahead with making it official. The last thing I heard a few weeks ago was that it was sold pending rezoning. The rezoning was expected to go through with no issues. I think they had been trying to arrange a lease with the new owner for another season or two since the property won't be redeveloped for a couple of years. I guess that might have fallen through. It is very unfortunate, especially for sprint car racing in the North Texas area. I guess we'll see if the WoO and ASCS go to TMS dirt track or somewhere else.

I hope fans tear up the bleachers and take sections home with them after the last race like Browns fans did to the old Municipal Stadium.

I had a feeling when the WoO scheduled these fall dates this would be the last hurrah. A shame because i think Devils Bowl could have been a showcase facility with the population they have nearby and the history of sprint car racing in the area. They could have had some big crown jewel type events at the place.

Been going to Devils Bowl for almost all the WoO shows since 1990 and a few big ASCS races. I remember when the place was out in the boonies and had not realized how close Mesquite was getting. Sold to a developer or to the regional airport next door?
Honestly the actual racing has been pretty crappy, just how the place usually races. Also 410's are more scarce down here than a liberal politician.
Cannot think of another track other than the Dirt Track at TMS that might hold a WoO or HL show.

Don't think it's the regional airport, but possibly something related to it. I don't know exactly what it will be, but hope to find out soon.

Yes, right at a thousand miles. I've done many thousand mile days with a high water mark of 1553 miles in 24 hours. I'm a IBA member (Iron Butt Associatio)

I cruised up to the kitchen and grabbed a beer and back down to the family room to watch the Outlaws last Saturday. I think thats a personal record.
