After the first 410 race at Selinsgrove Speedway in 2023 its safe to say that ERS Promotions LLC are going all in and are committed to making Selinsgrove a top not facility. Some notable updates are newly painted concession stands, upgraded to wrist bands, and the track crew did a fantastic job all night. Also the track is alot smother from years past. There is alot of room for more improvements but ERS Promotions LLC are off to a good start.
Edit: I forgot to include that these changes are just the beginning and to expect bigger changes throughout the season and Offseason.

I noticed a few changes and they I think for the good. Time trials were started from the pits, not from the infield .There was no foot traffic back in forth from the infield, a new pit gate from the pits to the grandstands, a new ticket window near the first turn granstands and other changes I can see for the good. The track prep was real good as it was very racey. Good luck to the new promotion crew at Selinsgrove.

Selinsgrove is one of my favorite tracks. There is nothing like the shear speed on the big half mile. They have been under the radar for the last five years to Port Royal, but after seeing the racing last night, I think there is a bright future with this new promotional team. I will try to support them as much as I can this year, as a reward for their efforts so far.

Yes this is the true Speed Palace! No slip n slid half throttle thru the turns there like another track down the road. Wish they would run 410's there every week. Lincoln & SG has the best track surfaces period.

I was there and I give it high marks. The track started out dry and extremely slick. Obviously a product of the weather. But they threw so water to the outside and brought it right around. It was pretty much exactly the type of track you usually see at Port Royal so for the useless moron above running his mouth, it's obvious that he wasn't there or he'd be bitching about it for sure. Either that or his problem with Port Royal is 100% personal so his opinion lacks any objectivity whatsoever. That said, it was a good day. It's nice to see Selinsgrove in good hands. Thanks to Heffner and company for all they did in previous years and congrats to the new group on a successful first 410 race. I can't wait to go back for the next one.

I wish them luck . I was not as impressed with the last promotional team as some were. As far as weekly 410's Selinsgrove lost that battle long ago along with a lot of their fanbase. The fan base would have always been hard to rebuild and with today's entertainment options it is likely impossible. I am pretty sure Selinsgrove could not run a profitable good paying 410 race without support from Port Royal fans. A testiment to this is that I see to this point no 410 races have been scheduled at Bloomsburg this year. Whether anyone likes it or not the sprint car fan support gets weaker as you go north.

I was there for a daylight surface I would give them a 7 out of 10. The track was pretty much a high groove around the fence. But near the end of the race the bottom of one and two took rubber. Dietrich found it and cisney didn't. They couldn't even pass lapped cars as the race went on.
If it were a night show it would have been 2 out of 10 as far as surface.
Hope they get it figured out for the Tilley race.

If it was a day time show I doubt they were attempting to nail the night time track prep. So what you're saying is they get. 7/10 score for the time of day they were racing and nothing else really needs to be said until they race at night.
Even though I may not know you, I
care what most of you think!

Yes it did. All I said was the truth. The track was good for a daylight show. It definitely reminded me of the other track south on route 35 and that is NOT a complement.

Feature was fantastic. Dietrich chasing Cisney around the top through the lapped traffic inches from the wall - taking the lead on lap 24, then Cisney nearly getting him back on the last lap. They needed to water the track before the feature but unlike the last track prep crew, I'm glad they are smart enough to realize that you can add water to a dry track when needed but you can't take the moisture out of a track that is too wet. Overall a good show. DD said the track was the smoothest it's ever been. I'll take wide, smooth and racey any day over fast lap times on a narrow track. My only complaint is 1 car at a time TT's. No reason for that when you have transponders.

I don't expect single car TT's to be the norm. I think it was their first time, and with a lot of new track personnel, they kept it simple.

A) Does Selinsgrove have PPV coverage?
B) When would they run 410 races? Sundays? Friday would compete with Williams Grove & Sat. is already split 2 ways....

I'm also glad they moved the start time to 5. IMO all Sunday and weeknight shows should start at 5 or no later than 6. I know I would go to more of them if they did. My alarm goes off at 4:45 on Monday morning, so no way am I going to risk getting home at midnight. Maybe 20 years ago when I was younger, not today.

If I had to get up at 4:45, start time would have to be 2 - maybe 40 years ago .....
Speaking of 40 years ago - It was split 3 ways on Saturday nights - and decent fields of cars at all three if I remember right. Selinsgrove might have been a little lean.
And please don't shorten the track.

Selinsgrove had strong fields of cars in the 80's when Zechman's promoted the track. Good times.

Jim,
The big Selinsgrove (and BAPS) races are on sprintcarunlimited.tv You purchase them on a per-race basis (no annual subscription available) and the money gets shared with the track. It is a different model than the other PPV packages with the goal of sharing more revenue with the tracks. They usually cost 26.99 per race.
link
Most of Selinsgrove's 410 races are on Sundays. The exception being the Jim Nace Memorial which is Saturday 9/16. They will try to avoid scheduling a 410 race the same night as another local race. This is a new promotion team and it would be in their best interests to play nice with the other tracks and promoters. The PA promoters have done a great job of respecting each others schedules and that has allowed the bigger, showcase races to thrive.
I hope they have great success at Selinsgrove Speedway and I hope people cut them a little slack if they don't.

dd was on winged nation the other day. they talked about an arms race among central pa tracks. baps is offering to add $2,000 to the purse and raffle off $1,000 to a fan if they get 1,000 presale tickets. it's a dog fight right now for business. ultimately that's what these places are...businesses trying to survive...and i wonder who will make it 5-10 years from now. it's hard to imagine what things were like when silver spring speedway was still around.
other series like high limit might be having the downstream impact of pulling away the drivers fans want to see. there's more racing than ever...but without the top guys in the area. hopefully borden, deitz, and some of these other guys can rise up to make things even more competitive. otherwise weekly shows are going to be less interesting. i've been mostly hanging around waiting for the outlaws so i can see everybody.

Lincoln already screwed them when they moved the dirt classic to Labor Day weekend and made a 2 day (Sat-Sun) show. Selinsgrove has had a 410 race on that Sunday for several years now. Selinsgrove still has a 410 show scheduled. Port did the same thing a few years ago stealing the Sunday date for Memorial Day weekend. Tough to find 410 dates and even tougher now when the regular 410 tracks decide that every big race needs to be a multi-day show.
