This isn’t getting much buzz on the ole interweb and if it's true, it figues. I'll just put out what I know to see if anyone else has heard anything that might be related.

So, I attended the Texas two step shows this past weekend. The Friday night show is the show in question. I did not personally witness this but was there and was watching the race when my buddy about yanked my arm from my shoulder to point out who he thought was Kasey Kahne. No big deal, right ? Except it was during the LCS. I couldn’t see who he was trying to point out. We were pit side watching from turn one and the guy he was pointing out was there then gone. I told him he was full of shit and that he was stupid, Kasey was on the track racing. He kept on about it and wouldn’t shut up. Then we talked to someone else in the pits that noticed a WoO official had Kahne off to the side talking to him shortly after the LCS.

I still didn’t think anything of it till the 9 car was a no show for the A main. So did the WoO see Kahne in the pits during the LCS and it was Pittman in the car and they busted them ? It sure makes me wonder. Because even if Kahne was feeling bad, he did make the A main via the LCS and should have at the least made the parade lap, take the start, then pull off after the first lap. Locking in his driver points as well as owner points for the night, then let Pittman take over the next night. KKR did post they placed 24th in the main and received a DNF, the WoO results page says other.

Seems a little fishy. I’m not pointing fingers at KKR, teams do what they have to do, they always have and always will. I’m more looking at the WoO and a possible cover up. If they caught a team that wasn’t part of their flagship program, they would have put them on blast for everyone to see, with possible fines and race suspensions. I don’t put it past the WoO to do this very thing. I just don’t know for a fact that this happened.

The woo web story mentioned Kasey made a driver change and it affected his start ir finish position. I didnt pay much attention but I would assume they have a rule in place and would follow that protocol. The fact they mentioned it would suggest they are not trying to hide anything.

That's what I know from the web in Canada.

I thought the same thing, but after reading more into it, that storyline was for the Saturday race.

I thought they announced the driver change before hot laps on Dirtvision.

Might have, I was at the race so I didn't hear that.

But, if they did, why didn't Pittman run the main ? Usually, the WoO will tweet all the goings on, whether a motor change is happening or a driver has scrapped for the night. I've heard a lot of announcements over the years, but never another driver is taking the seat of another driver during a race.

I saw it posted on Twitter early Saturday morning that Kahne wasn't running and Pittman was filling in. Doesn't sound like any big conspiracy to me.

So it appears that there is some sort of cover up going on, big conspiracy ? No, just typical WoO playing favorites.

I just talked to a WoO team crew member that knows for a fact that KK ran the heat race, Pittman ran the LCS. Pittman was in the 9 and was pushed onto the track for the main. It was announced through the WoO communications to the drivers that the 9 car was being pushed to the pits. The WoO did that because too many teams knew that Pittman was in the car, and it couldn’t be hid. Plus, just think, what if Pittman put one hell of a race together and pulled a podium. Then everyone would know that KKR switched drivers mid show and that's against the rules.

Nothing more to see here ... lol

So did the 9 compete in the A Main? Not that I can see. And the WoO web story clearly stated the driver change resulted in the car/ team getting the 90 show up points. And the Thirson team got to participate as the 25th qualifier stepping g into the 24th starting spot.

Did Thorson actually start the race?

I always thought you could make a driver change during the night if the one who qualified couldn't carry on..but that driver had to start last?

I got yelled at by the WoO Late series officials one night at Pittsburgh due to something similar.

Yes it happened 1 night at the Williams Grove National Open. Sammy quit the 77 mid-show and Hamilton put Lance in the car(I believe LD was having mechanical issues with his car 30c?). Lance started the back of the C and then raced the 77 into the show in the B.

Where's Mulder & Scully when you need them? If this is the biggest conspiracy theory that happens all year I'll take it. Better than having to explain the whole 2min work area rule to everyone.

Glad to see Pittman back in the 9 car. Any news on how Kasey is feeling and when/if he might return?

Outlaws would have allowed the change if they were notified, but since they didn't that's why the 9 was parked. The team is headed back to Charlotte while Kasey recovers
