I met David in the Attica pits last year. It was mid afternoon not long after he arrived. He was very polite and more than willing to talk to me and do pictures. I came away very impressed with David. Super nice guy. Couldn't have been better with the fans (me). Can't wait to talk to him again this year.

Maybe Gravel is a good guy but comes off being arrogant and too full of himself..I never pulled for Schatz although he is from Fargo N.D.(Minot area)..But now he runs something different and pulled for him last year and will this year too..He's a good shit to boot...Not too full of himself like some of the others are..He's hard working in the family business and is working hard..Good luck to him this year..

You can't tell much about these guys from interviews or quick exchanges in the pits. I met Dave & his parents & they seem OK to me....
Like I said many times before, I don't expect these guys to be my buddies. I just like to watch them race....

I stumbled on to gravels YouTube channel a few years back and have kind of turned into a fan because of that. Plus he doesn't seem like a jackass and runs clean. I never thought he comes off as arrogant.

After just defending Dave, I'm gonna point out that plenty of Posse fans didn't think his punting of Stevie Smith (or whoever it was?) to win National Open at WG a few years ago was "Clean"....
That said, I don't condemn him for it. I've seen lots of drivers pull "Questionable/too aggressive" moves before.
Nobody's perfect....
