I am curious to know what the WoO teams do with 2 weeks off between events. I know Donny floyd home to work. The lower budget teams tho, do they part the hauler near the next track and go home, vacation around the area or what?

Who knows what who does.

Do you ever read what you type? 2 weeks, 2 days or is it 2 months or 2 years. A person could do a lot of floying depending on how much time they have. Maybe try drinking or smoking a little less in the morning.  BTW I think you are more of a troll than a race fan.

It is a chance for most drivers to head home for a week or 10 days.  I would guess most team home ports are west of Port Royal and some are near Port.  They would also go home for a week then get ready to head to midwest.   My guess only.  I have made mistake of hitting enter when I had typed  wrong.  Double check everything before you hit enter then mr. perfect  will not be on your case.

most teams are pretty budget concious so fuel cost to head "home" and back vs hotel rooms for the stay. pretty easy math.

I care not how you judge me for any reason, especially an incorrect word.

I have seen drivers and team members post pictures of lake outings, biking, golfing, fishing or grilling on off-days.  Sometimes with multiple teams hanging together.  That's mostly been earlier in the season when they are only racing on the weekends.  Haven't see much lately like that.  I'm sure the majority of their time is spent washing the hauler, prepping parts or just sitting around waiting for the weekend if they can't head home for a few days.

I saw a picture of Wayne Johnson and Aaron  Reutzel  riding a tandem bicycle together! No,  Not really.  I think a fight might break out over who would be in front.

When do they have 2 weeks off? I would imagine most teams fly back home and 1 or 2 guys stay with the rig to make sure it is safe. I was told there isn't much time for sightseeing unfortunately.

Looking forward to the new Golden State King of the
West series schedule!

Boring story from when I was a kid:

In  the early 70's, some racer used to haul his car in a camper/hauler vehicle out to western South Dakota. He'd race at Black Hills Speedway in Rapid City and then vacation in the Black Hills. Funny thing was, his car was an upright eastern modified because he was from New York. The officials didn't know what to do with it, so they had him race with the sprint cars.

He did it at least a couple of years in a row. In the early 70's, an eastern upright modified was no match for wingless sprint cars running 4-barrel carbs on Chevy 350's. At least the family got to see Mt. Rushmore and the begging burros in Custer State park.

Off topic sorta...

There was supposed to be a $21k to win show at the new track in Indy, Circle City Raceway this weekend. I wonder if there was some sort of arrangement where that could have been an Outlaw show but it didn't happen or it was always meant to be a big non-sanctioned event. Either way, it got removed from the original schedule as did a bunch of dates.
