Interesting. Someone in mid-summer started a thread on here about how long before Reutzel was released from the Roth car. He got absolutely blasted. I defended the question as Roth has been known to have no patience whatsoever. I thought it was a valid question. This interview with Aaron's crew chief confirms it. Reutzel was likely not going to be in the car for 2022 and possibly not after the Nats unless performance picked up. Not saying this is a good reason to cheat, but that is definitely what led to the decision to do so. What driver in their right mind would jump in that 83 car? (besides Kasey who can afford to eat without Roth's help)
(And I'm not defending Reutzel----he cheated, end of story)

I feel like the Roth car is one that needs a guy who can win at least 1 in 5 to 1 in 10 races. They seem to measure their success in wins more than consistency.
A few gassers who could win a lot(would have put Ruetzel up there)
1)Kerry Madsen
2)Dominic Scelzi-Whom I believe turned this ride down
3)Tyler Courtney-Not certain why he would leave his current deal which is pretty good
Assuming you cannot get these 3, which I suspect you would not, I would go to Justin Peck. He has shown speed back to the Grove 70 and seemse to really be gelling now with the Buch 13. He can hammer it and can win races.

Good choices. The only issue is, you have to be sure you have a plan-B in July when he lets you go because you only won 3 or 4 races. I don't know who would jump in that car after hearing Dylan Buswell's interview.

Outside of Courtney, who has a chance to become the next Brad Sweet, none of those choices are better than Reutzel.
Winning Outlaw races is incredibly hard, and Reutzel won 4 of them this year, including the big one at Husets. Only 71 drivers have won at least 4 WoO races in their career, in the history of the series. He was having a fine year, I doubt he'd have been fired after Knoxville. The crew guy seemed to be justifying cheating because of the pressure. Not to defend Roth, but I'm not sure you can read much into this interview other than a good background on what happened with the chassis.

Dennis Roth sounds like Bob Weikert. Great stuff - lots of wins - lots of drivers - little patience. Must be the cows.

None of those guys are dumb enough to leave a solid ride for a car with Dzus fasteners for the drivers seat.

I assume it comes from Key and Peele and one of their skits - "substitute high school teacher".

A-Aron is from a skit that went viral on the internet a few years ago is the best I can explain it to you. Ever since then, anyone named Aaron gets called A-aron.

Daryn Pittman's two seasons has to be pretty close to the record, doesn't it?

The year Lasoski won the Knoxville Nationals ('98) Dennis Roth had tried to pull the plug multiple times during the first part of that season. As much as he is known for being quick to fire drivers he is also known just as much for putting them back in the car so there are multiple repeat offenders there.

Dylan is a smart cookie, he will make someone alot of money next year.
Did everyone miss his comment that Aaron has 3 cars that are like the one that got busted......and if you think those are gone...you are stupid.
Also the WoO driver that won the Championship in the last 20 years, that had illegal hip rails, was the biggest cheaters of all....Elite Racing and Jason Meyers, but they feds caught up with them.

For as much criticism that The Roth family recieves for the inconsistency in drivers, we should all be thankful the car(s) that they field each year.
The drivers know going into that ride what the expectations and possibilities are. It's not like its a secret.
Aaron is a talented enough driver that I think we'll see him back on the WOO at some point.

I pretty much agree. Don't know much about Roth, but I'd be surprised if Aaron would have been fired after 4 wins halfway thru the season.
Also, this guy says that tube thickness was the same....huh??? Why were they penalized then? Somebody isn't telling the truth...
Don't quite get the Sweet comparison tho, unless you just mean Sunshine is a potential champ. Different guys, different backgrounds. Courtney was one of the very best wingless drivers, don't know about Sweet

From my understanding, another crew chief noticed something odd about the chassis on his car in victory lane at Ransomville. (One of the other podium cars) I don't believe it was ever proven that he ran the car at that event, but let's be honest, he did. So, he had made the switch before winning the 4th race. Let's assume he ran legal cars all the way up to that point. That is 3 wins in 62 races for a winning percentage of 4.8%. I've seen Roth dump many a driver with a winning percentage greater than that. So, I would not at all have been surprised if Aaron would have been fired. I would have been surprised if he wasn't fired after the Nationals----unless he would have somehow won the Nationals. Guess we will never know.

"You're right.... of course I am!
The guy you're talking about quit, right? Not the same as fired ( I know from experience)
Has Roth ever fired anyone with 4 wins halfway thru the season? Just asking, because, like I said, "don't know much about Roth"....
