I have, and have read most of Opperman's books - but that was some time back. Of the latest big 3 - Brad Doty's book "Still Wide Open" and Kenny Schrader's book "Gotta Race" - I still count "Hewitt's Law" the most entertaining and "laughing out loud" book out there. Maybe it's the era that I know best. Schrader's book kept a smile on my face most of the way through. He is one big character - but it didn't cover so many funny things I know he did. Brad's book is good - but of course it has some more serious sides to it. Still - it is inspirational, to say the least. I have yet to get the new Doug Wolfgang book.
Hey Rick Ferkel.... Are you working on a book yet? And Rager - you should have a book in the back of your mind, too. Y'all might as well join the group.

Anyone know the status on the stash of this book that they were supposed to have found? I put my name in for one of them and was told that when they got them, they would be completing the order and sending them out. That was a month ago, haven’t heard anything since.

Fordfan,
A couple of months ago we got news of a small cache of books (maybe 200?) that one of our friends in Australia had found, left over from when Jack and I did some book signings there in 2003/2004. It took a few weeks for him to get things squared away to ship to the U.S., but the books have been shipped via ocean freight and we hope to receive them within four weeks.
We are taking names at (317) 631-0437 and books will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
We are also hoping to do a reprint sometime in 2008 of both Hewitt's Law and Still Wide Open. Will post more info on this as it becomes available.
Thanks for your interest!

Dave,
With the exception of the part about being shipped via ocean freight, that part is new, the rest of what you said was my understanding about the books. And my name should already be on your list to get one of them, I called and requested one way back when news of their existence first came out.
