I see larson moved from Wed to Thur for qualifying. Knoxville was asking if any non WoO or All Stars would move to Thur to balance out the field. 51 Wed 50 Thur as of 8/10.
I would like to see Knoxville go to qualifying groups for the Nationals. Those that get an early pill draw definately have an advantage at least for qualifying points.

No, as I say every year. Don't change the format... ever. Next thing you know its straight up heat races where no one passes and qualifying where everybody is quick time or random draw pits all the good drivers in one heat. Don't WoO it up, don't make it the Allstars, and the best thing I've seen in here in a while don't NASCAR my sprint cars.

Split time trials is the only change i want to see. I hate it that the luck of the draw has such a big impact on the outcome. People will say the best cars will be there on Saturday anyway...maybe, but I would rather see everyone have a fair shot on the track at the beginning.

Am I the only one who remembers the night Steve Kinser went out 70th or so and still set fast time? It can be done. Knoxville Nationals format is fine. No changes needed.

Last 10 years, the average for the nationals winner went out 19th for qualifying. The average qualifying spot was 5.1. 3 times in the last 10 years the national winner went out 39th or worse. The format doesn't need to change

If they changed to split qualifying then people would complain that all the good drivers got stacked into the first half of timing and it let some not so good racers or fast cars time in 2nd group, thus making a decent run that night from time, heat, feature and then come Saturday they sink back because they never shouldve been there in the first place. Nah..keep it the same. Its the best and most fun format there is IMO. Going out early or late doesnt matter that much. Hitting the right setup and finding the right line as the track changes does....thus you get 2 laps to figure it out.

Agree. I could see it if there were drivers "lucking" into Nationals wins. This is not the case. Donny did not win 10 and The King win 12 because they got good draws on qualifying night. That's just silly.

Schatz and Gravel time in almost dead last, and still crack the top ten. No nead for split qualifying, the format is fine, and always has been.

Line up by points of heat transfers, invert top 8. Believe fastest non qualifier gets to start on the pole of the B as well.

OK, so how do line up the B?
By points? Any invert would seem pretty unfair...
Thanks in advance

I believe it's 1: Quickest Non Transfer, 2-20 lined up by points, 21-24 C Main transfers. That's at least what it looked like after comparing to the points after the heat races. Could be mistaken though.

+1
Schatz went out 41st and laid down the 6th fastest lap. Gravel went out 47th and laid down the 9th fastest lap.
At the end of night #1, they're 2 & 3 in points and are locked into the front half of Sat night A.
Its going to take more than a bad pill draw to keep Larson from laying down a top 10 qualifying lap.
The format works as is and the cream always rises to the top.

Its an invert of the top 8 qualifying times that transfer out of the heat races. The cars that transfer to the A but miss the invert are straight up by time with the B transfers at the tail.
The B is lined straight up by time for the cars that are in the B with the C transfers at the tail.
The C is straight up by time.

This is accurate. Mains are lined up by qualifying times, with the top 8 in the A-main inverted. Points only line stuff up on Friday and Saturday.
